It's a really lovely restaurant. The place feels very very homey and it's not too busy... Something I preferred as it was a long lunch with my girls to eat and chit chat. Fresh plants everywhere so you almost feel like you're in a well kept home garden. Eunice attended to us and she was fab.
We ordered two bottles of still water, two portions of the snapper with steamed vegetables and yam chips as a side respectively, and their oxtail with yam dumplings. The yam dumplings tasted like gnocchi - so you might need some getting used to if it's unfamiliar or not up your alley. The snapper was on pooooiiiinnntttt!!! The flavours were amazing and I've never tasted kpakpo shito so well done. It was hot but also had a very pleasant unique pickled sweetness to it. Needless to say I cleared my plate. Steamed vegetables were also good - it included mushrooms (thumbs up for this), squash, string beans, carrots, broccoli primarily. They were flavoured very well too so it wasn't boring.
They lost a star because their dessert menu was not our cup of tea. There're only two options and they seem too intricate or complicated and really not what you want when you just need a simple familiar dessert. I suggest that they add one or two desserts to their menu that people can easily relate to. In the end we didn't order dessert because in proper Ghanaian fashion, one of the two desserts could not be made 😂 (after we had debated for close to 20 minutes to try something).
Total bill for 3 mains, two sides, two bottles of water came up to 333 cedis per person and there was three of...
Read moreI hate to give this place one star because it has all the potential to be an amazing dining and drinks spot. The atmosphere, décor, and location are easily 5 stars. Unfortunately, the food and pricing were terrible.
Most of the menu items were unavailable (as other reviews have mentioned), and the few options they did have were clearly old and not fresh. We ordered fries and panko chicken bites—the chicken was brown, smelled bad, and was inedible. I also tried the lobster with rice, which was obviously not fresh either. They tried to cover it up with heavy seasoning, but it still left a bad taste.
On top of that, the prices were shockingly high for the quality—comparable to a fine dining restaurant, but with food quality more like a chop bar. To make matters worse, the menu stated that taxes were included, but they weren’t—VAT was added at the end and applied to the entire bill (including service charges), which added nearly an extra 100 GHC. We left feeling scammed and very disappointed.
It’s such a shame, because with its atmosphere and location, this could be an incredible spot if they fixed the food quality and were transparent...
