So, I do not know with what I should start: First, the food plating looked great, but unfortunately that’s all that your get. Regarding the appetizer dishes tried by us: -the fish eggs salad from the greek appetizers is so salty that you do not feel anything else after, and the feta cheese dip leaves at the end just an acidic taste, -the meatballs had no taste at all and, even more, the tomato sauce had a sour taste, - the caramelized octopus with pea puree is not even peas is lentil / chickpea because it was yellow not green, and the entire taste was only just from the balsamic vinegar, great for a future stomach pain.. Secondly, about the main dish: - I want to start by saying that I never ever had eaten in Greece a moussaka without taste! Never!! It would have been wonderful to have had at least a nutmeg taste - the burger with feta and the chicken fillet with black rice were just salty , - the pork fillet was just flat food. At the end, after so much bad food (and after 1h and a half , trust me, you’ll be eating it! ), I also ended up with a foot pain from the heat released by the terrace stones, but this is another story. The single positive thing: the mojito nonalcoholic drink was very tasty , so you have one single chance to feel great, drinking that, and enjoying the sunset view. In conclusion: my opinion is that the people come here only for the sunset view, which, honestly, is indeed beautiful and the location is perfect for that, so, my advice is that to focus on serving excellent cocktails and, simultaneously, to take cooking classes, or, just to hire a group of grandmothers from the village, so that they make simple tasty things.

The restaurant has a brilliant view across to the Aegean and is very atmospheric. The design of the restaurant is tasteful and elegant. Keep in mind that the prices reflect this and the food is okay. The slow cooked lamb was good, the potato baked mash didn't seem baked at all though. The food in general was okay, a bit salty to be honest. The first waitress was very friendly and helpful, she took our order. However, the next two we encountered were somewhat dismissive and seemed uninterested. The music is horrible, a mix of pop/rock classics that are cover versions by some ear bleeding soft jazz outfit (not live). Really bad. To find the toilets I asked a gentleman sitting at the staff counter who mumbled something and pointed to where they were. They are actually back out the entrance and under the main restaurant. The experience wasn't completely bad but not what you would expect from a restaurant of this calibre. The bill arrived and I was asked if I would like to leave a tip, I said I didn't which created a rather awkward moment. It would be better if you had the option on the keypad (yes or no) like most restaurants rather than being asked point blank in front of everyone. When we left there was no 'thank you, bye' or a wave goodbye like most Greek tavernas do which was a bit off putting. I felt a bit judged for not wanting to leave a tip. Maybe just my paranoia. Recommended as the view is great and the food, although not really worth the price, is okay. They really need to change the music though.

Thea was an absolute experience on every level. Let’s start with the food: Greek cuisine elevated to a whole new level, with the personal touch of Chef Kostas Fretzios. Every ingredient was clearly of top quality. My personal favorite was the fresh tuna from Alonissos — simply amazing. The linguini with tuna was outstanding, but the tuna fillet was truly out of this world. Our dinner was so good that we booked again immediately for two days later. The desserts were delightful, the wine selection quite decent, and the cocktails — both alcoholic and non-alcoholic — were a highlight for me and my wife. Customer service was excellent: kind, attentive, and genuine. The owner and chef himself welcomes guests, oversees everything, and even prepares many of the cocktails. Then he disappears into the kitchen to cook, only to reappear later on. It’s rare to see someone put so much love into what they do. I knew Chef Kostas from Greek MasterChef, where he ranked very highly, and seeing him here confirmed why. And then, the view. Wow. Set at the top of the old village, it offers an almost 360° panorama that’s simply breathtaking. I highly recommend booking the 19:30 slot, so you can enjoy the scenery both in daylight and as the sun sets — truly paradise on earth. Considering the quality, service, and setting, the value for money is more than fair. This is the kind of dining experience where you never regret spending a cent. We can’t wait to return. Thank you, Thea team!

I'm giving this place 2 stars generously as the waitress was sweet and attentive and the place is a beautifully restored Alonissian house. We were unfortunately sat in a tiny balcony off the side of the restaurant with minimal views and cramped leg space so we can't comment on the views of the restaurant. The main problem though is the absolute rip off that this place is. We ordered the risotto gemista (gemista is a traditional peasants dish consisting of stuffed vegetables) Although in the menu it states an array of stuffed vegetables such as zucchini and tomato, we were shocked to find that the dish, was "deconstructed" in a failed attempt at modernisation of a hearty meal. There was only some risotto, not even a full cup of it, flattened on an oversized plate and dotted with some fancy looking green oil around it. The taste was good but the portion size at 15 euro was absolutely a disgrace. It must have cost them less then 1 euro to make. I wish I had taken a photo but I was just so stunned, I couldn't even think straight. The Mediterranean salad was basically cous cous and tomato, with exactly two lettuce leaves and no sign of the rocket. The trio of dips was good but there was so little pitta bread to accompany it that we had to order bread (4euros for 4 tiny bread rolls plus a "bonus gift" of exactly 4 olives 🤣) What can I say other than, this is a pretentious and wildly overpriced place which I would never ever return to. Good luck if you do go there, make sure you eat something...
