Food was costly and not up to the amount in taste:ordered seafood spaghetti that cost 22€ ,it came with some of the fish mixing and taste like a 4€ pasta. Then comes the boiled greens that cost 7,50€ which should be hot but came very cold even in hot temperature and was just basic in taste. The only thing that was good was the chilled bottle of Mythos beer that cost 4€and no reservation required. I personally feel without any prejudice that here is overrated . It’s basic and cost a lot. And they make you wait for 20mins before giving you a seat and after sitting down, you wait 30MINS before your meal start coming one by one ,not even all at once.

I felt pity for the workers running up and down to serve many customers eating or waiting to be given seat but seeing all that I felt that it will be worth the wait. But I’m sorry ,it wasn’t worth the wait . If you are hungry and hot, wait and be serve. If not, find another option close by or wait till you leave the island like my husband did.

We ate here at 2:39pm left at 3:14pm

Aperol spiritz cost 11€ and the next coffee shops close by cost 10€ for the aperol spritz .

Note to the owner if you see it practical:-You could employ more people to serve and it’s okay to say to customers that you are full instead of packing them up and wanting all the money and exhausting your workers . “If food cost, let the taste be up to that standard even if it’s in an island”. So sorry but even if I do not want to,being honest drives my reviews. Thanks for your effort but hope that you...

After spending some time at St. George's Beach, I decided to grab lunch at Captain Piponos Seafood Tavern nearby. As I approached, I noticed that this place was busier compared to other restaurants in the area. The setup was simple yet unique. They had paper table covers held down by rubber bands to prevent them from flying away with the wind, a practical touch that also added to the casual ambiance of the place.Once seated, the first thing that caught my eye was a flagpole where fresh catches of the day were hanging. It was clear that seafood was the star of the show here. The menu had a good variety of seafood options along with some Greek and European dishes. I ordered the octopus and mackerel; both were fresh and tasty. The simplicity of the preparation allowed the natural flavors to shine through. The service was quick and friendly, making the dining experience smooth. Despite the plain setup, the vibrant atmosphere, courtesy of a bustling crowd, made the place feel lively and enjoyable. The view of the sea added a serene backdrop to the whole dining experience. What stood out at Captain Piponos was the straightforwardness of it all. There were no frills, just good, fresh seafood in a casual, laid-back setting by the beach. The bustling crowd was a testament to the tavern’s popularity and the quality of the food they served. It was a satisfying, no-fuss meal with a view, making my visit to Captain Piponos a pleasant,...

Now let me tell you something about this place not as a customer but as someone who worked there . First of all the 2 owners of the place are very rude people who never give a smile to everyone. I went there for work, for accommodation they gave me a basement 20 minutes away with bugs and not even toilet paper .( you cannot find to buy toilet paper in the area if you do not have a vehicle) of course i expressed this since day 1 but no one cared . As for the food if you see how dirty the kitchen is you will not step your foot in the restaurant ever. They promise you 12 hours shifts but it’s 15. On top of that the 2 owners with the 2 PDA waiters are stealing at least 1000€+ per month from the tips that should be going in the rest waiters payments. They promised 2 meals per day but they take 1 meal they break it in 2 half’s and they give you this as food for the day . Very bad treatment and if you don’t believe me you can notice that the restaurant besides the 2 pda waiters do not have staff. People come and go all the time they work for 10/15 days and they leave as soon as they realise what is happening . Stop eating to this overpriced restaurant just because they have a “name” . Food is really mid and the prices very high. Have...

A bad experience in otherwise wonderful Antiparos. It’s our 6th time on the island, so we have a pretty good feel of what it has to offer food wise (simple but tasty family run tavernas as well as fine dining) . Unfortunately, captain Pipinos felt like a tourist trap. It was our third time giving it a try but third time was no charm…. Which is why I finally decided to write a review. The waiter was a bit rude, and made fun of the fact that I was asking questions about the food I was about to order. The food itself was fine, but overpriced. I ordered fish of the day (sea bass) with a side salad (cucumber and tomatoes) for 18 euro. I asked if there were any other cheaper fish like Gopa for example, but there was no choice, other than very expensive fish sold by the kilo (60 euro per kilo). The view is beautiful but the atmosphere of the place is not. The food tastes fine, like in any other taverna, but the price is way too high for what it is. Not worth it and will not come back.
