Avoid This Taverna at All Costs—Rude, and Discriminatory Behavior
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My friends and I had the unfortunate experience of trying to dine here not once, but twice, and both times were met with appalling behavior.
The first time we showed up, we were greeted with rude stares and disgusting comments about women taking too long to get ready and were told we had come too late.
Determined to give it another shot, we returned the next evening. Big mistake. The entire place seems to be run by one person who has no concept of customer service. We stood there awkwardly for several minutes, completely ignored, waiting to be seated. When we were finally acknowledged, this waiter allowed another group of older people to go ahead of us and then had the audacity to tell my friend there was no space left, despite there being a couple of empty tables.
It was crystal clear that this man was discriminating against us for being younger, assuming we wouldn't spend as much. He handpicks his customers and treats others with utter disrespect. The blatant discriminatory attitude of this man are more than enough reasons to steer clear of this place. Even if you are greek or not (we are) it does not seem to make a difference to the so called “filoxenia” of the place (greek word for welcoming strangers). It's beyond comprehension how a business like this continues to operate. Do yourself a favor and avoid this taverna...
Read moreThe host of our accommodation in Paros recommended this place so we were determined to try it when we went to antiparos. We got there around 6:30 and the guy working there said they open at 7:30 so we walked around for an hour and were back at 7:35. We waited outside for a while before he finally came out and said no to us sitting down because they were fully booked. There were multiple empty tables. We asked him why he didn’t say that when we asked earlier and he was just rude and dismissive. Not sure why he was being this way but suspect it’s because we were not locals. Should consider moving to a less touristy part of town rather than the center of it. Probably the only bad interaction I’ve had during my trip to Paros...
Read moreHere the food is particularly good - fresh fish and fries - yummy. Years ago we got in very easily, but for the last couple of years the owner of the place is kind of ignoring you when you come in. Maybe it’s because we don’t speak Greek, i don’t know. But when we ate here everything was very good. Music was awesome - some Greek rock bands that I discovered while dining here. And the best naive paintings inside. Who knows, maybe in the next summers we’ll be able to get a...
