I came with my wife for dinner.
In my research and according to suggestions of my friends, I decided to try grilled octopus served on humus. It was delicious as much as any other sea food such as sea bass, bluefish. It doesn’t feel like you were eating some molluscs which personally I don’t like. It really feels like you eating a good sea food.
I asked for the Fresh Chios Beer as the local beer of the island. It has an aromatic and easy to drink taste. If you like to try different beers, I suggest to give it a try.
We also ordered eggplant, fried zucchini, greek salad and tzatziki.
Eggplant just dissapointed me because the eggplant taste is just lost behind the tastes of chickpeas, I think there were too much chickpeas in this eggplant. I can’t say that it wasn’t good but I ate way more good eggplants in other greek restaurants.
Fried zucchini tastes really good but we just thought that there should be a tzatziki with the zucchini without ordering it separately. Because they are two beautiful tastes that complement each other. When I compared to other greek restaurants I think it was a lack of zucchini menu.
Greek salad was just awesome. When I compared to other greek restaurants I can say that this restaurant just one of the best greek salad I have ever eaten. Try with the crispy breads.
Tzatziki also quite good. Keep in mind that most of the greek restaurants serving with plenty of garlic.
Octopus was 14€, in total paid 47,8€. It was quite filling...
Read moreWe sat down for a bite to eat before catching the ferry back yesterday. It was the most crowded and open place in a pleasant square. The menu is one page but you can find all kinds of food. The waiters were very attentive and sympathetic. It didn't even need to be mentioned that our time was limited, the service was very fast.
We chose fava and spicy cheese dip as appetizer. For seafood, we had grilled octupus, which came with a single arm of octopus and fava. Generally, the portions are small compared to Greek main courses, they are served as mezedes but they don't serve 2 bites of anything like Turkish meze. At the end of the meal, they brought a cinnamon phyllo roll, called masourakia as a treat.
The food was very satisfying and delicious, we especially loved...
Read moreI was sauntering around Chios and I came across this beautiful little square surrounded by Chios castle and a restaurant caught my eye, as it was lunch time I decided to give it a go. I've discovered my favourite restaurant in Chios,😋😋 I turned up 3 days in a row for lunch. On the third day I asked the waiter if I could buy a drink for the chef ( cook ) for after work as a thank you for the wonderful tasty and presented food. The chef ( cook ) arrived and said he would like a beer, great I said for when you finish work, no now he said, what will your boss say and he said I'm the boss who's name is Makis. This immediately made sense to me why the food was so, it's his baby and he's proud of the quality that he...
