The Dolphins — Restaurant in Chios Municipality

We visited the restaurant "Ta Delfinia" on the seaside road of Chios for lunch. At first, the staff who served us were polite. However, the calamari we ordered was the worst I’ve ever seen – huge, soft rings (I’m not even sure it was calamari, judging by the plastic-like texture of what they served us). It didn’t even smell like calamari, and the oil it was fried in seemed like it hadn't been changed in days.

I returned the dish and politely asked for the more expensive calamari option on the menu (thrapsala – a type of squid). Ten minutes later, they brought us a plate identical to the first one, with the same awful rings that may not have even been calamari. Naturally, we returned that as well, paid, and left…

They didn’t even apologize or offer a polite explanation about what went wrong. So… easily the worst experience we’ve had on the Chios seaside, where every other restaurant we’ve visited has been excellent in terms of quality, service, and pricing.

What a shame… for...

I’ve never had such an awful dining experience ever in my life. First of all, the food was nothing special. Very ordinary. The owner - or whoever he was - was so rude throughout the whole experience. He kept shouting at his staff the whole time and he was in such an awful mood with his customers including us. We had ordered a good selection of sea food with Ouzo; however, we were so heavily rushed to leave our table after having been there for only 45 mins that we had to chug down our Ouzos while being told that we had to pay and leave the table which we had booked for in advance! We were also overcharged and when asked for an explanation, all we got was even moodier man raising his voice at us and telling us we just had to pay whatever was stated on the HANDWRITTEN receipt. The handwritten receipt didn’t even add up correctly and we were overcharged for 5 euros. Terrible experience. Wouldn’t recommend anyone unless you’re into being shouted at and rushed by some...

Food was alright but not special, but the owner was HORRIBLE. He was shouting at his staff the whole time, and kicked us off our table after only one hour despite the fact we booked in advance, as he was promising new customers tables he didn’t have. He also gave us the bill before we had even finished eating, yet alone finished our alcoholic drinks, rushing us to leave. The bill itself was incorrect and overcharged us roughly 5 euros. When we asked the owner where this charge came from, he just dismissed us and told us to pay. We only payed that full amount because he was too intimidating to talk too, as he was already raising his voice. AWFUL EXPERIENCE and WOULD NOT GO AGAIN. Food is expensive and atmosphere is awful. Not worth it at...
