As a professional in the culinary industry, running a fine dining restaurant in London, my standards are uncompromisingly high. Yet, my recent dining experience at Ostria Restaurant in Syvota surpassed all expectations, establishing it as one of the finest local gems I've encountered.
Ostria is a testament to the beauty of simplicity combined with exceptional quality. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing the freshest ingredients from local farms, and this commitment to quality is evident in every dish. Each bite reflects the care and passion that goes into selecting and preparing the food.
The hidden yard setting adds a unique charm to the dining experience. Nestled away from the bustling streets, it offers a tranquil ambiance that complements the exquisite food. Dining in this secluded haven feels like discovering a secret treasure, enhancing the overall enjoyment.
What sets Ostria apart is not only the impeccable quality of its cuisine but also its remarkable value. The prices are refreshingly reasonable, making it accessible without compromising on excellence. This balance of high quality and affordability is a rare find in today's dining scene.
During our stay in Syvota, we explored several dining options, but none matched the culinary experience provided by Ostria. From the welcoming atmosphere to the expertly crafted dishes, every aspect of the restaurant embodies a dedication to excellence.
In summary, Ostria Restaurant offers an unparalleled dining experience that beautifully captures the essence of local cuisine. Read moreA One-of-a-Kind Experience at Ostria Cuisine Restaurant in Syvota, Thesprotia. As we wandered through the town center near the small port, we stumbled upon a lush, green terrace that revealed itself to be the charming Ostria Cuisine Restaurant. From the moment we arrived, despite not having a reservation, we were immediately given a table surrounded by lush greenery and a tree that extended its branches, offering a welcoming invitation to those who gathered below. The young owner, truly hospitable, greeted us right away with a bright smile. His warmth radiated through the entire staff, as both the waitress and waiters went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Starting with the daily specialties, whether it was the sea bass, sea bream, steamed mussels, or salads, the food was exceptional—prepared with great care and infused with the best flavors. The food was incredibly delicious, making Ostria Cuisine one of the best restaurants in Syvota, with outstanding service and a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Beyond the great food, the hospitality of the owner and staff was simply wonderful and inviting. It was a shame we discovered this gem during our last days, but we were fortunate enough to dine there for three nights. I am at a loss for words as I cannot recommend it enough. We are deeply thankful for the warm and welcoming ambiance, the kindness and politeness of the staff, and the owner’s generosity in making this a truly valuable experience, complete with a ceramic souvenir as a token for good luck. Though it was a long journey from Pristina/Kosovo to Syvota, it was more...
Read moreWe walked by Ostria looking for a different restaurant, but returned quickly to see the menu as Americans traveling with our Greek friends to see if they could serve us since there were many reserved tables. The menu looked very good and the prices seemed reasonable, but we opted for the Dorado fish which while was much higher in price could have been enough for 3 people. It also came with grilled vegetables. We also ordered the avocado salad. Everything was so delicious my wife and I managed to finish it. Our Friends ordered Osso Buco and a green salad. Sotiris the owners son was so friendly. He sent us on the house white wine for 4 and a small plate of homemade tzatziki sauce and eggplant dip to spread on the generous portion of grilled bread with olive oil and oregano. At the end of the meal we were presented with prickly pear, also on the house. All in all we had a lot of food, wine and water for 93 Euros before our 20% tip and while it was our most expensive meal in Greece for 4 people it was far and away the best meal we had in 10 days and we will dine there again tomorrow night before heading out early for Athens to get ready to head back home the next day. At the end of the meal we met Sotiris mother Katerina Rossi who does the cooking. She has owned the restaurant for 35 years, so to survive this long you know she is doing something right and at the end of our long conversation she gave me a ceramic pomegranate as a gesture...
