Ammos — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

We ate at a number of restaurants on our holiday but Ammos was the one we came back to for a final nights meal.

The setting is superb, right on the beachfront with gorgeous views out to the islands, highly recommend booking the tables right at the front.

The food was the best Greek food we had on Nidri, absolutely delicious, the seafood Saganaki was sumptuous.

As with all places in the summer wasps and hornets were a pain but the owner did all he could to try to reduce their annoyance and allow us to eat a meal in peace, the burning of Greek coffee was a new one to me but seemed to be very effective.

The children loved the place and my son insisted on telling the owner he reviewed it as 10 out of 5 stars (we might need to work on his maths...) and the best food he had ever eaten, having eaten his bodyweight in Saganaki, Gyros, Klefitko and Moussaka and finished off with Orange pie for dessert.

It's a little off the beaten track compared to the main drag but worth walking...

We were recommended to Ammos through the staff of our hotel. And it is safe to say Ammos did not disappoint! We hired good quality sunbeds for a very reasonable price from the mascot of the team: a very friendly and energetic man who you can rely on to reserve a good spot for you for the coming days of your holiday in Nydri. The convenience of a good restaurant just behind your sunbeds is always nice to have, and Ammos offers just that. The dishes at Ammos are of great quality and go beyond the traditional Greek dishes: the restaurant provides customers with a twist on Greek cuisine without being expensive at all. Ammos is also open in the evenings, and their menu is diverse enough to enjoy also on dinner occasions at the beach. Great housewine and good coffees are also available for you in the restaurant, as well as on your sunbeds! Lastly, the staff of Ammos is very friendly and professional, and caters to every wish! Right on the beach front, good food, good service and a view that will take a lot of beating. There's a good menu, coupled with good staff makes an excellent evening of chilling out with a nice dish of food. The taverna is lovely and we ended up going back three times in our 7 day stay. Our grand daughter loved it. The first night she gave it 6 out of 10, second visit, 8 out of 10, last visit, 10 out of 10. It was relaxing and no one rushed us in any way. The view is simply stunning as the taverna is right on the beach. I'd be back there tonight...
