Eva Beach Hotel — Hotel in Lefkada Municipality

The hotel was clean and always smelled lovely, on arrival was informed air conditioning was €70 - well worth the extra money as it gets very hot and stuffy. Our room was small and basic but effective- a great place to base yourself to be in the heart of Nidri. ||We was informed that clean sheets and towels are provided every 3 days- we required everyday as the water in the shower makes the floor lethal. We did only get our sheets changed once in our whole 10 day stay, which was the only thing we can complain about.||We paid extra for the breakfast- wouldn’t recommend spending the extra money for it as it was very basic and not up to our standards- also there is many cafes in the town which is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.||Nidri itself is an absolutely beautiful area, we ate out every day and did not have 1 bad meal the restaurants are beautiful and the waiters were always friendly and efficient. Our favourite bar was Sol Y Mar - the cocktails were the best in Nidri. |There are lots of bars and each one does ‘happy hour’ every day. ||We are not the type of people to spend a lot of time at hotels- we like to explore and go out- if you are the same then this is the hotel for you. ||We have never relaxed more than we have in Nidri, very hearty and traditional part of Greece- we were that relaxed that we hardly took any photos- a nice break from technology- the wifi is not very good which didn’t bother us too much as as we said- a nice break from...

Premetto che sono oltre vent'anni che con mia moglie soggiorniamo in Grecia per le vacanze. Perciò, avendo, come sempre, scelto un "tre stelle greco" non avevamo pretese di lusso. In effetti l' Eva Hotel è una pensione carina con BB, direttamente sul mare a Nidri, con spiaggetta privata, ombrelloni e lettini gratuiti. La vista sulla baia con le sue isole è impagabile. E' situata a pochi passi dal animato centro di Nidri, ma nello stesso tempo è in una tranquilla e silenziosa via fra eleganti palazzi in stile ionico. Camera al secondo piano, con ascensore, molto diversa da quelle della presentazioni ma dotata di terrazzino. Vecchiotta come stile (in effetti basterebbe ridipingere in bianco il soffitto ora in perlinato di pino e tinteggiare in colori tenui i mobili, scurissimi ma in legno massello, per ottenere un risultato migliore, simile al elegante hotel giusto di fronte) Bagno piccolissimo (la porta sbatteva sul wc e la doccia con solo tendina era attaccata allo stesso e al piccolo lavandino, per non parlare della ventola aspiratrice che faceva un rumore infernale) Ma anche questo fa "grecia" . Aria condizionata (assolutamente indispensabile in luglio) a pagamento, a 5 euro il giorno, silenziosa e funzionale, come le imposte, nuove e ben isolanti dal esterno e dotate di zanzariera. Anche cassetta di sicurezza a pagamento, a 10 euro la settimana. Dicevo, mobili vecchiotti ma tanto spazio per i vestiti e le attrezzature . Il che non è sempre scontato in hotel più moderni. Piccolo frigo in dotazione, silenzioso ma veramente molto piccolo. TV piccola e vecchiotta e con solo 4 canali greci (almeno nella nostra stanza) WF gratuito, ma debole e lento e funzionante solo al piano terra nella hall o in sala colazione. Simpatico il baretto interno aperto fino a tardi. Parti comuni ristrutturate con stile discutibile ma familiare. Colazione poverella con poco o nulla di internazionale ma con brioches fresche e molti altri dolci. Per frutta solo anguria. Succhi concentrati . Per fortuna yogurt greco presente. Miele in vaschetta come la marmellata. Solo di fragola. Formaggio e prosciutto tagliato a striscioline.... ottimi per nutrire i simpatici ed immancabili gatti "da colazione" . Vera nota dolente l' assenza di parcheggio privato per auto (se non alcuni posti nel loro condominio adiacente ma strapieno) A Nidri i parcheggi sono rari e a pagamento. Noi abbiamo noleggiato uno scooter e bene o male un posticino vicino al ingresso l' abbiamo trovato contendendolo ad altre due ruote ! Al nostro arrivo, verso le undici del mattino la camera non era ancora pronta e solo verso le quattordici è stata disponibile per cui abbiamo approfittato per andare a pranzo...ma per famiglie con bambini stanchi per il viaggio sarebbe stato un problema. Personale cortese e alcuni, come le Sig.re Aspasia e Caterina, parlano molto bene l' italiano. Pulizia buona, biancheria cambiata...

Ideally situated on directly on to the shingle beach, however don’t be fooled about the swimming pool in several pictures, that’s next doors pool!.|Rooms have been upgraded but are still very basic. Walk in showers have slippery tiles on the floor and therefore dangerous, they need some sticky spots to make them safe. There is no proper shelving in the bathroom so nowhere to put toothbrush and toiletries. Only buffet breakfast which is adequate for everybody and snack lunches no evening meals. Staff very pleasant, but cleaners very loud from early morning and the voices carry. Lower rooms at the back will hear the laundry being done all night which is not great for a peaceful sleep. |Overall pleasant experience, but as ex hoteliers can see a few tweeks that would make for a more pleasant experience. |Sunbeds at hotel are charged daily at @20 euros per two beds bookable in advance a necessity.
