I have never left a negative review in my life, but after what happened during our recent visit to this restaurant in Nidri, Lefkada, I feel obligated to speak out—especially to warn other families with young children.
What started as a pleasant meal quickly turned into a deeply upsetting and frankly shocking experience. After we had finished eating, a middle-aged blonde woman—who appeared to be either the manager or the owner—stormed over to our table and launched into an unprovoked tirade. Her tone was loud, aggressive, and humiliating, delivered in front of a full restaurant of guests.
Without any attempt at discretion or basic courtesy, she scolded me and my toddler in the most inappropriate manner. Her exact words were: “Your baby can’t feed herself. It’s not her fault, but maybe you should feed her instead—look at the mess you’ve left behind!”
Let me be clear: the so-called “mess” was nothing more than a few small pieces of watermelon and bread on the floor—completely normal for any table dining with a toddler. We were already in the process of tidying up ourselves and had been polite and respectful throughout the meal.
The sheer rudeness and hostility of this interaction were outrageous. There was no kindness, no understanding, and certainly no professionalism. Instead of addressing her concerns with even a hint of grace or tact, she chose to publicly shame a mother and her young child—something I find utterly unacceptable and deeply upsetting.
If you are traveling with small children and expect even the most basic level of hospitality or human decency, I would strongly advise you to avoid this place. No guest should ever be treated with such disrespect, especially not a parent doing their best with a...
Read moreA Classic Tourist Trap: Avoid at All Costs This was, without a doubt, the single worst dining experience I've had on the entire island. From the moment we sat down, it was clear this establishment is a prime example of a tourist trap, with its owners focused on profit over quality and service. I strongly urge anyone considering this place to look elsewhere. The food was a complete and utter disappointment. I have eaten fish far better and for a fraction of the price at other local restaurants. The portions were a complete joke, laughably small for the exorbitant prices they charge. As an example, the octopus was barely cooked and consisted of just a single tentacle. It was a complete rip-off. What truly made the experience unbearable, however, was the management's behavior. When we tried to voice our concerns about the quality and price, the manager and another employee became immediately confrontational. They seemed to be working in tandem to provoke a negative reaction from us, almost as if they were trying to create a scene so they could call the police. It was a shocking and intimidating display of unprofessionalism, all just to avoid justifying the massive bill for the subpar food. After a tense standoff, they seemed to realize their mistake and made a clumsy attempt to de-escalate the situation by trying to send us free food. By that point, we had no interest in their "goodwill" gesture and just wanted to leave. It's truly a shame that people like this are in the hospitality business. My advice to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation is this: if you order and the portions are small and the food is poor, do not touch it. Simply walk away. Don't let these unscrupulous people take...

We had the worst dining experience at El Greco in Nydri, Lefkada, out of all the restaurants we visited during our stay. The service was incredibly slow; we waited 40 minutes just to get tzatziki and olives. When we finally mentioned the delay, the food arrived quickly, but the quality was awful.
The pizza was missing ingredients that were listed on the menu, and it seemed pre-made. The tomato soup was disgusting, and the pasta was barely edible, just enough to fill us up. The only somewhat acceptable dish was the souvlaki, but even that wasn't particularly good, as we expected.
At the end of our meal, the waitress attempted to apologize and offered us a complimentary digestif, which we all refused. We shared our feedback about the poor experience, and while she acknowledged our comments, she also suggested we were exaggerating.
As we were leaving, we overheard her talking about us in Greek with another table, which seemed to be full of her acquaintances. She was likely asking them to leave a good review, knowing we mentioned the poor ratings the restaurant already had online—a fact we unfortunately hadn’t checked before sitting down. Next time, we’ll be sure to look up reviews and avoid places that "just look good from...
