I was quite amazed by the excellent reviews, because they don't reflect what I saw. The octopus was very poorly cooked, with awful texture. For no apparent reason there was balsamic cream on everything. The side dish was the same on every plate, which is never a good sign. It was "grilled vegetables", overcooked and non edible. On the plus side, the very good service. But that alone is not enough.

Edit: My issue with the side dish is that it's the same on many plates (and not cooked right). The gesture of bringing fries was indeed much appreciated. I repeat that the service was really good, no complaints whatsoever! The quality of food/cooking is the subject of reviewing, it's not right to argue over the table with the waiters about the job of cooks. That's why most customers say they are fine with everything, because they don't want to argue in front of everyone, thus ruining the experience of everyone. During our recent 5-day stay in Lefkada, we had the pleasure of dining at Basilico every evening (yes, every single evening because we didn't want to change for any reason), and it was an unreal experience. The food at Basilico is simply amazing – every dish we tried was exceptional and left us wanting more. The quality and flavors were unmatched.

Special thanks to the staff at Basilico. Incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meals. Thodoris, the owner is definitely a guy that truly cares for his customers to have the best experience possible. Special thanks also to Iraklis for his kindness and care. All the staff made our dining experience even more memorable with their outstanding service.

We had a lovely dinner at Basilico in Lefkada, and everything about the experience was excellent. Our waiter, Cristos, was incredibly pleasant and attentive throughout the evening. He gave us some great recommendations, especially the pork “Stagble” steak, which I tried and absolutely loved. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavor.

Cristos was also very kind and helpful with my girlfriend’s younger sisters, who are very picky eaters. In the end, we didn’t pick anything directly from the menu for them, we asked if the kitchen could make a simple pasta with butter and some cheese, and it was no problem at all. They were happy and comfortable, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

While I’m not usually a seafood fan, my girlfriend’s parents ordered the Seafood Variety for Two and were genuinely impressed by the freshness and variety of the dishes.
