Found Katsarolakia the 2nd day of my stay. It was exactly what I look for anywhere I travel in Greece: home-cooking! The only one in Lefkada of its kind that’s clean and open, that’s NOT tiny and smells strange. Here it’s like a cafeteria but NOT impersonal, it’s welcoming and comfortable. The food is Greek mom home-cooking (even the kids of lady chefs inside eat here). Greek cuisine is more than tourist taverna taverna, greek salad, French fries and souvlaki. It’s chickpeas in the oven (yum!), Briam (like ratatouille but tastier), green beans and potatoes (it’s good trust me), my favorites. The menu changed daily. There’s 3 or 4 vegetarian options every day. There’s equal meat options that looked good but I just don’t eat meat. There’s sometimes even a vegetarian moussaka, delicious but a rare find. It should have the same number as the amount you paid. They lost at least 5 additional visits for the amount of tax gained on a 7 euro bill (they claimed it was in error.
