It took 2/8 days to find this place but after we found it, we ate all of our lunches there, even if it was 30 mins away of walk (one way) from our hotel The food is delicious and a plenty, the fish is fresh and the meals are cooked always in that day. you even get something from the house which is such a nice thing, but sometimes too much. Definitely try fish soup (we ordered 4 nights in a row) and the fish "gauro" (or whatever is spelled, 5 euro if i remember correctly). Also the "sea food variety for 2" is a good option, but the pasta or rissoto with shrimps or other seafood is awsome, as same as any fish dish, even dish lamb.
It's a nice and crowded place and unfortunetly the city hall did not want to help this family business to expand (which is a shame due to the quality of food and how good you are treated by the employees, compared with other establishents from Vassiliki, we had 2 very bad experiences in other restaurants) There is a land near the restaurant which is not used at all by anyone (shame for bad city management).
Anyway, in some nights we waited @15 mins, in other nights we found a table right on the spot. Anyhow it was the best place we ate in Vassiliki during our stay and me and my wife are mad ONLY cause we did not found this place from the very 1st day we arrived here. The time of waiting worth everytime.
The owners are very frendly and open and sinceers, a true monument of greek hospitality. I can say that we made some friends on our stay :)
If you are reading this and you are for the 1st time in Vassiliki, give this restaurant a try and thank me latter :)
We will definitely get back to this place in the future if we will get in town.
P.S.: greetings from Romania Elisa and all the best to you and your family and good luck in your projects and future plans !!!...

We went here just because of the massive propaganda on a group called LEFKADA FORUM. Big mistake we did. I should have known better.
First of all, when you bring something at the table as a pre starter and you say it’s free, don’t put the bread on the bill, we have told you from the beginning that we don’t want it even if it’s free, and you disregarded. No one touched that pink mess you put on the table. Next time respect your client wishes.
Ok, second thing. I will comment on the things I have ate today, the rest from the menu, probably never. This restaurants it’s so overrated. They sell junk food here, from frozen most of the sea food. The mussels were so bad, some of them white like sick, instead of the normal color, so bad that not even the cats that are there wouldn’t eat them. Tomato balls: The cheapest feta that could possibly exist, it gives burn on throat soon as you eat them. The zucchini balls were mediocre as well. Garlic bread was ok. Sea food plate for 2: OMG, bad, bad, bad. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS THING, calamari and octopus, chewy like a piece of plastic. Anchovies grilled, some good some bad, probably fresh mixed with frozen, baby octopus, FROM FROZEN, tasted like nothing. Best on the plate, shrimps, fried potatoes that are natural, not from frozen and the sauce from the salad. Ekmek that they give at the end after dinner was quite tasty.
Overall this place it’s cheap for bad food. Honestly, prices like theirs I haven’t found in Lefkada, they sell cheap but...
Read moreWe visited Pondi Family Tavern with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The service was extremely slow — it took nearly an hour from the moment we sat down to when our food finally arrived.
The beachside tables are charming in theory but poorly maintained in reality. Many are unstable, and the floor tiles shift uncomfortably underfoot as you move.
As for the food, it was a bit underwhelming. Everything we tried lacked seasoning and felt bland, especially considering the tavern's reputation. The Greek salad, though fresh, came in a small portion suitable only for one person. Their signature seafood platter — the item they’re most known for — turned out to be nothing special. While the octopus was a decent size, the rest of the plate included mussels, fried calamari, and anchovies. The small fish were not properly cleaned and had a bitter aftertaste. The platter, labeled for four people, could realistically satisfy two, assuming the others order something else. However, the price is reasonable given the location and...
