Restaurant "The White Crown" — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

Unfortunately, I have nothing nice to say about this place. First thing we spotted were dirty tables. If you don’t pay attention to details like that then you might like it as the position of restaurant is really good. We ate traditional souvlaki as something that you can’t go wrong with, however ours was awful. Meat was very hard to chew and even harder to swallow so we gave up on it immediately. Fries came as a part of dish and that was only eatable. Greek salad was super dry without olive oil. Tomatoes came together with parts of herb that you usually cut off when you make salad at home. To make things clear I am not a picky eater at all and I am very easy when it comes to rating food. Restaurant was empty at that moment so no excuses to make it right way. The second we asked for check, and showed some dissatisfaction, waiter asked to pick up our plates even though we still had a half of our drinks in glasses. No, I wasn’t rude to anyone, I didn’t say anything offensive and my tone was very polite. This isn’t something that happened to me in a past but they could have avoid this review just by offering drink or a tiny dessert on the house. For a price of 60€ for two sticks of souvlaki, small greek salad, tzatziki and 3 drinks, I expected some taste. As we had to move to restaurant next to it and spend more money to suppress what just happened I give it 1 star. At least we spared our friends by texting them not to join us. Next time I will always check reviews before I decide to eat somewhere and not judge just by how it appears from far while I’m walking by. Maybe it’s just a bad day or bad luck, or we choose wrong meal....

This taverna is a hidden gem and my ultimate favourite place in the area from Nidri to Lefkada! Barely visible from the main road, but once you are in the garden, it reveals its uncompareable beauty. Authentic atmosphere, nice blue wooden chairs, checkered table cloths, stone floor and an amazing view of the sea right in front of you. It is both romantic and magical. A nice touch that also tells me the owners take pride in this place: there are plenty of plants around the whole building, really nice flowers and special Mediterranean vegetation. The service is excellent, polite and quick with a smile. The food was something out of this world! I had fresh sea food (squid) and salad. All ingredients were fresh and they tasted perfect. We also ordered chicken-bacon souvlaki, this became my partner's favourite. Along with drinks (water) and bread, we paid around €33 and were very satisfied with the portions, taste and value. I recommend this restaurant...

Unfortunately our experience was pretty dissapointing. We came in around 12h for lunch, and were told that they open in another hour. No problem. We go to the nearby bar and have a brunch. Later, the 4 of us come there for a desert and drinks, as the atmosphere is very nice. The waiter asks us to leave because they serve only food, even though the place was completely empty except for 2 tables. We said we wanted to eat there too, but they weren't open, so we had to find an alternative as we were hungry, but would very much like to eat a desert and have a few drinks too. We were told no, and that we can have drinks in a nearby bar. The place was still empty 2 hours later as well.
