As one of the highest rated restaurants in the island and with pictures of impressive creations we decided to visit!
While gourmet with very good food styling and presentation, price to value ratio was a bit up but nothing too extreme.
Most of the food was on par with expectations with the only exception being the (i think) shrimp tartar.
Despite looking amazing, and literally us not wanting to ruin the look of dish by eating it unfortunately the taste was below average and borderline not pleasant to eat. The strawberry mousse in combination with the cous cous and other ingredients just did not work. All four people that tasted it could not find a positive thing about it other than the looks. Overall we do understand that some dishes are not compatible with everyone but all agreed this was not nice to eat.
As the rest of the food ranged from okay to excellent we believe that either this was a fluke that the cook who prepared it just had a bad day or the dish is just not good.
As constructive criticism on how it could be improved all agreed that it needs to have a much stronger "sour" kick to it's taste and possibly some salt. Otherwise you could advise the waiter to mention that this is a dish which you will either love or hate so it can be taken into consideration when ordering.
The seafood risotto however was amazingly well executed and a delight to eat.
Overall great service, view, environment and good overall food experience with okay prices for the quality and portions. Only exception was the tartar which really...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Porto Nikiana Restaurant in Greece, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, whose friendliness and attentiveness made us feel right at home.
The service was impeccable—swift, efficient, and always with a smile. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our meal was perfect, offering helpful suggestions and making us feel like valued guests.
As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors, showcasing the best of Greek cuisine. The portions were generous, ensuring that we left completely satisfied. Whether it was the fresh seafood, the tender meats, or the delightful vegetarian options, every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality.

Read moreA really lovely restaurant for a special evening out on Lefkada. Absolutely worth a detour to Nikiana if you are in the area.
The food is delightful, featuring a small number of reimagined and elevated versions of the classic dishes found in tavernas around the Ionian Sea. The wine list provides an opportunity to explore some Greek and international wines - as well as local Lefkadian wines - at a reasonable price point. The service was attentive, friendly, and on point. Prices are similar to nearby tavernas, but the quality here is several steps above the norm.
We’ll be back to try the rest of the menu!
We had shrimp saganaki, sea bass with zucchini pasta, and a seafood pasta dish with orzo, shrimp, and cuttlefish. The chocolate dessert was a fun combination of fudge and cookie. We had a bottle of “A Muse” 2021 white wine...
