Averto Beach Bar Extreme Sports & Water Park — Restaurant in Lixouri Municipality

Not the best place to stay on one of the best beaches in Kefalonia. We arrived in the afternoon (around 4PM) and decided to rent sunbeds and chose two of them (we were with kids and the beach is quite narrow, we thought we were lucky to pay for sunbeds to have a proper place to stay on the beach). One lady came and let us understand (in English, taking advantage that in a foreign language you may be misunderstood) that usually the sunbeds cost 15 euros, but we may order from the bar - meaning, if we consume, we do not pay for the sunbed. We ordered some drinks (~10 euro) and thought that we must order later for the rest of 5 euro. That was misleading, because after 20 minutes or so, another lady came to demand the cost of the sunbeds (14 euros). So, first you come to ask the people if they want to drink smth and then, when they have the drinks and you made sure they are staying there, you go and ask for the cost of the sunbeds. This is the policy of this place. Of course, after confronting them, none of these were true, we were the ones that lied and didn’t understand that the first lady just wanted to offer drinks and had nothing to do with sunbeds. 😅 No receipt for the drinks, but the one for the sunbeds did not take long to appear. Very inconsistent place over 2 encounters. First time: We were looking for something to drink, we were looking for a drinks menu when the owner comes over and goes "food, drinks" we told him we just wanted drinks and he goes "you eat, you eat, we have food". We walked off due to the pushy nature. Second encounter: we decided to give this place another try. We walked in and sat down, staff looked over at us but didn't seem bothered. Had to go up and ask them for a menu, when they ignored my presence for a good couple of minute. Staff were then sat around the bar, not keeping an eye on the restaurant and clearly not bothered about working. We were ready to order, and waiting for a good 10 minutes for someone to take our order. I began to walk off and prompted to my husband to follow me. The owner soon rushed over to take our order. I went personally to the bar and asked for a coffee frappe to go. They literally just made the coffee, no other service or interaction of any kind. The price of the coffee was EUR 3,5 and I wanted to pay by card, but big surprise: I was asked if I want to leave a tip. Ok, I said - make it EUR 4. This means a tip of 50 cents (15%) for absolutely no service from their side. But still I received the question if I am sure that I wanted to leave only 50 cents tips.
