AMMOS Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Aegina

The Location of the restaurant is very nice because you can dine directly at the beach.

The beef in tomato sauce and the stuffed vine leaves were very good. The garlic bread was okay.

The fish was full of fish bones and therefore not edible. Although previously in the kitchen when selecting fish explicitly asked if they could remove the head, innards and fish bones and this was affirmed.

Unfortunately, despite twice addressing and returning the almost complete fish dish (my husband has lost appetite after 1/4 full fish bones) was not even trying to find a solution and charged the full price of the fish dish in the amount of 25€.

Justification for this was that Greeks always eat it that way, you always get the grilled fish everywhere in Greece with bones and it was a misunderstanding.

nice that it was explicitly addressed before. If one had been told there that it is with bones, one would have chosen another dish.

we have on Aegina already very good, grilled fresh fish served completely without bones.

to classify it as a misunderstanding as a host, but to let it run completely at the expense of the guest, is in my eyes a very poor customer service. In the end, the guest did not get the food he ordered, discussed during the fish selection, and left the restaurant hungry again.

I can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant. The staff (Christian, his wife Stella, and their son) were AMAZING. The food was spectacular! We stayed a few days on the island and ended up back here for more than one meal. You can't beat the flavor in their dishes and we were not disappointed with anything we ordered. We had a wide variety of dishes but one of our favorites was the special of the day, stuffed cabbage rolls! The location is incredible as well, beautiful sea views and your table is right in the sand. There are also lounge chairs available for use, as well as a changing room and rinse shower. They say the secret ingredient is love and I believe it! You can tell a lot of care goes into this food and service, in fact when we entered on the first day Christian great us with "welcome home" and we were made to feel that way too. This is such an amazing place, I don't even know how to start. I am sure the story of how Christian and Stella started this restaurant 38 years ago could make a beautiful movie. We came here 5 days in a row and it never dissapointed and by the end of the week, we felt like we were family. This is the kind of place where you really feel like you are on vacation and you can relax. The food is amazing, the sun beds are right by the water, the service is always great, people are smiling, telling stories, and the atmosphere is very laid back. Christian is a fantastic host, Stella is an exquisite chef and their son, Alex, is funny and charming. The rest of the staff, Marilena, Adela, Melvin and Orestes, were also so nice, and we always felt well taken care of. We will come back for sure and in the meantime, it will be missed.
