From the very beginning we were excited to come – this is an international chain we know well, and we had wonderful experiences at their branches in London and Dubai. We made a reservation in advance, looking forward to a special evening in Crete, with high expectations. We even came with the idea of exploring the venue as a potential place to host our wedding. But the disappointment began even before we entered. The restaurant is accessed through the hotel, and when we arrived and gave our reservation name, we were told they couldn’t find it. Instead of letting us in and checking inside, they left us standing outside the hotel for 15 whole minutes, as if we were unwanted strangers. Only after we insisted and managed to get hold of the phone number through which we had booked, were we finally allowed in. The manager said she was “taking care of it” – but no one thought to apologize, to offer any compensation, or even to show the most basic human courtesy after such an unpleasant start. Once we were finally seated, we hoped the dining experience would make up for the rocky beginning – but unfortunately, the opposite happened. All the dishes arrived at once, in a crowded and overwhelming way. The table was overloaded, with no room to properly enjoy each dish on its own. It felt like they just wanted to rush us through. The food itself was of poor quality. The steak, for which we paid full price, was simply not chewable. There was no culinary experience here – only disappointment. Throughout the entire evening, not a single waiter approached us on their own. No one asked if everything was okay, no one offered dessert, no one showed the slightest interest. The service was simply disgraceful. And the worst moment – while we were still sitting and eating with plates on our table, the staff began lifting chairs around us and clearing as if we were in their way of closing the place, instead of simply taking care of our table first. When we finally called a waiter to clear, we told him the steak was not chewable – and he reacted with complete indifference. He didn’t ask, didn’t listen, didn’t apologize. He just said “Okay” and cleared the plates. The only positive part of the evening had nothing to do with the food or the service. From our table, which was located right by the sea, our car keys accidentally fell into the water. In this case, the staff did come to help us, and they did so kindly and helpfully. For that, we are grateful. But sadly, aside from that moment – the entire experience, from entry to exit, was disappointing, offensive, and degrading. The price we paid was not worth even one euro. It is heartbreaking to see how such a successful international brand, where we enjoyed wonderful experiences in other locations around the world, managed to fail so badly here in Crete – in food, in service, and in the most basic respect towards customers. Especially considering we were seriously evaluating the place as a potential wedding venue, this experience completely destroyed...
Read moreWe are staying at the hotel and wanted a convenient restaurant on site to eat at. The pizzas and the beef in red wine sauce were delicious. The gnocchi was not bad but not something that we would crave. The beef was especially flavorful as was the truffle pizza. The tiramisu was ok. The rose drink was delicious. You’ll really like the atmosphere with the tables next to the water. You can see fish swimming in from the sea and they will circle around in the open square. The floor by the water also has glass to see down to the water. Nice place to have dinner with a view. Service was attentive...
Read moreMe and my Wife went last night for her surprised birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. The meal wasn’t cheap but the food was excellent and best I’ve ever had and my wife agrees with me as well. The staff and the decor is first class and would recommend anyone to go there if you are in the area. As we were not hotel guest I would advise to book first as you will need to get through security and then you will be escorted down to the restaurant...
