Old Mill Cretan Fine Dining — Restaurant in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Restaurant is on property at the Elounda Mare Hotel. It is an outdoor restaurant with covered areas and depending on the table has a great view. If you are staying at Porto Elounda, you can take a complimentary boat or golf cart ride to the Elounda Mare with a restaurant reservation. I recommend taking the boat during good weather so you can get a different view of the sister properties from the water, which is beautiful at night. From the dock, you will have to walk a bit to Old Mill. We had a few servers helping us from the person bringing out bread, taking our order, bringing out the entrees and drinks. Everything was thought of. There was a complimentary starter that was a strawberry-glazed puff with a creamed fish. We decided to do dinner as family style, where all dishes were served in the middle and everyone had a little bit of everything. I didn’t know what to expect with the rabbit dish, but it surprisingly very delicious. Rabbit was a dark meat, but didn’t taste dark. The rabbit was prepared two ways as you can see in the picture. The sauce that came with it added to the flavor and it rabbit meat was tender. The lamb was also prepared two ways and our kids fought over who would get the lamb meat in the little pot. The beef was a little tough. The fish was delicious and fresh as was the stuffed squash. For dessert we had the Ode to The Bees. It was a beautiful presentation and unique. It was a chamomile mousse...
