This holiday was awesome and we have already booked to go back again next year.|We were greeted at the Elounda Eleon Villas at 12.30am by Ilias who showed us to our villa a lovely warm welcome. In the fridge was two bottles of cold water, 6 cans of pop, and a cake (Wonderful) and going way above and beyond we thought. |We had a suite that included a separate bathroom with shower. The main suite area consists of a large bed, Large wall mounted TV, two bench seats, fridge, electric hob, toastie maker, kettle, krups coffee machine, pots pans etc., hairdryer and iron and great free wifi. |Outside our villa was a private area with great little pool, two sun loungers, table and two chairs, parasol and daybed with canopy.|There is so much good about these villas that I thought it best to list them.|Very clean and comfortable, Zeta came to clean every day towels changed every other day. |Great air conditioning. |Quiet location, so peaceful and relaxing with private pool - we went for a sea view villa (Number 7), the villas start at number 1 and increase up a very steep hill so be aware as this may be a challenge for some - however the only time this was an issue was the nights we had a little too much to drink, but overall not a problem at all.|There is a minimarket and beach bar 10-15 minutes walk away |Elounda centre is about 30 minute walkaway, we walked there every night and got a taxi back - Taxis are 10 euros and are always readily available and always large mercedes.|Elounda has so many lovely restaurants many of them on the waterfront all very reasonably priced. There are also some in the main square aswell - Our faves were Porto Rino, Vritomartes and Olio.|Portion sizes are massive be aware :-)|You can buy your groceries from one of the Elounda supermarkets and they will deliver it to your villa, many restaurants/take aways deliver too just call them up with your order Ariande is a good one again large portions.|Agios Nikolaos is a good day out much larger and busier than Elounda 16 euros in a taxi. Mirabello Boats are good we hired a boat and skippered it ourselves 150 euros for two hours - great fun.|You can hire cars easily while you are there aswell - not sure on the pricing but there are lots of places near the villa to hire from.|Overall a lovely holiday I would say mainly for couples that want a relaxing holiday away from the main hustle and bustle of life - with lots of relaxing bars and restaurants|If you arrive late at night maybe consider a private transfer as Elounda seems to be that last drop off so could take 2 hours from the airport we had a private transfer on arrival it took 50 mins. |The Elounda Eleon villas are awesome if you like a family run atmosphere, Maria and Ilias couldn't have done anymore for us they were there whenever we needed them via Whatsapp to offer advice - genuinely lovely people.|They also provide an option to buy a traditional Cretan breakfast that is prepared by Maria and her mother it was delicious we...
Read moreFabulous stay in a very comfortable well equipped villa with private pool. Elias warmly welcomed us on arrival, ably explaining all the essentials for our stay, including supplying a hearty Greek breakfast at 10 euros a pop which was great value, so we took advantage of it on the first morning of our stay.|We had 'Villa 7' which has a one big room, kitchenette and separate bathroom, aircon and private pool on the adjacent terrace.|Stunning sea views complemented the relaxed feel of the place and we spent most days chilling in the glorious sunshine which we had until around early evening. The addition of a parasol and our own olive tree gave some respite from the sun when need be, taking our meals under them was a sheer delight.|If you're wanting a gym, beauty treatments on-site bars, something for the kids to do, got itchy feet, can't sit still for long and a communal area then this place isn't, I suggest, for you.|If you are seeking peace and quiet, your own space look no further, ideal for couples and a base for trekking over to Elounda, Plake and Agios Nikolaos.|Be aware its up a steepish drive, so if mobility is an issue you might want to think about it, nevertheless, its only a thirty second decent - a bit more when full of ouzo and gyros on the way up!! |Euro Mart supermarket deliver, just send them a WhatsApp, a nearby cafe does also with cakes, wraps and delicacies freshly squeezed juices. |We found a local taverna willing to send us souvlakia, Greek salads etc for lunch which was a real treat. |The shower and kitchenette hobs we found a bit fiddly to start with but soon mastered them so it might be an idea to get the welcome team on arrival to demonstrate the technique to save a modicum of minor frustration.|Can't praise the team at Eleon Villas enough nothing was to much trouble, Zeta came in everyday to clean the room and change towels everyday other day, an absolute star as was Elias!|On arrival we found soft drinks, a bottle of wine cooling in the fridge and a home baked cake!|Ideal for Elounda which is a 10 euro cab fare or a leisurely 35 minute walk or 15 euros to Plaka to visit Spinalonga and possibly my favourite bar in the World 'The Pine Tree' (fabulous meze with your ouzo).|We'll be going back (we booked through EasyJet holidays and organised private transfers (about 130 euros -shop around before you go to pre-book) to save the 2-3 hour transfer from Heraklion. By the way a new airport is being built, operational by 2027, which will cut down the transfer times to this part of the Island and save the hassle of the adequate but totally overstretched current airport.|Loved it, so much we left with...
Read moreWe have just finished our second visit to Eleon suites in Elounda. Maria was the best host and ensured everything was to our satisfaction. The kitchen had been upgraded since our visit last year and was an amazing improvement to an already brilliant suite. The beds are extremely comfortable but what we really like is the private pool... whilst not huge the pools are big enough for a little swim and a form of aqua aerobic exercise plus brilliant for a cool off and they are quite deep.. I'm 5ft 10 and the water came up to be shoulders when stood up... all one depth. The fridge was stocked with a bottle of wine and some pop and there were coffee pods available. |Zeta the cleaning lady was a joy to see every day. She always had a smile, a laugh with a quick chat. She was very efficient in and out of the room without too much fuss. She is a true credit to the whole team at Eleon. The pool man (sorry I don't know his name) was also the maintenance man and any problem was fixed immediately and the pool was topped up and cleaned daily. |Maria kept in touch on WhatsApp and was very communicative about the check in and check out process. |The small complex is based 2 miles out from elounda main square. The road is quite busy walking in with about the first 1/2 mile with no pavements but generally flat. However the complex itself is on a very steep hill... obviously the higher the number of the suite the steeper the hill.... not to be undertaken whilst inebriated đ.... |There is access to the sea not far. This did mean diving into the sea off rocks with access steps available. There is a "beach" a little further down the road with easier access in and out through a "harboured"area. This beach has a bar situated but it has never been open all the time we have been there. 2 weeks last year and 1 week this year and is part of Elounda blu hotel.|Amazing stay, amazing people, we will...
