I’ve no idea what’s with all the poor reviews for this restaurant, but to me it seems like a concerted effort orchestrated by local competitors to take this wonderful restaurant down. This is the real deal people; a proper traditional Greek family-run taverna on the seaside. These are the places those Greek travel guides pull you in with. And for good reason: this is what it supposed to be like. What’s with people desperately needing a curry while on holiday in Greece, while the local cuisine has so much on offer? Thanassos and his family provide a characteristic Greek taverna experience as of right out of a holiday brochure. The food is very good and the fish is fresher that you could find anywhere else - it’s all local daily catch. You may not like Greek coffee, but that doesn’t mean the coffee is bad. You may not like fish, but that doesn’t mean the food is no good. And I even read somewhere about portion sizes - really? We were adequately stuffed after a starter and a main each, is all I’m saying. We really enjoyed the interaction with the owner and the fact that he’ll invite you in to try his food is just good business practice - after all, remember that this has been a tough few years with the pandemic reducing visitor numbers greatly and the seasonality of running a restaurant in this part of Greece. My wife and I recently went to this restaurant twice within one week. It’s a family owned Greek restaurant that came up with all our expectations.

The beef, burgers, kleftiko and mixed grill plate my wife and I had during this week were absolutely amazing. The beef was grilled medium to perfection and had just the right amount of char with a lovely blue cheese sauce. The kleftiko as it was recommended was a big hit. It was very tasteful and didn’t disappoint us at all

Special about the place is their charcoal grill (not gas) that led to the great barbecue flavors.

Aside from the delicious food, what really made our experience exceptional was the service. Thanasis did all to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

Overall, I highly recommend this place in Palairos for anyone looking for a real traditional Greek dining experience. The food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding and it's clear that the family who owns the restaurant puts their heart and soul into everything they do. We were very happy at this restaurant. We had a nice personal invitation from the owner and nice talk with him. Mom's Salad we can really recommend. A nice diversion from the traditional Greek salad, with figues, dried tomatoes, walnuts and some delicious tomato bread at the ground of the salad. The food was presented very appealing. The self-made french fries were very good. The grilled vegetables from the charcoal grill were very delicious. The grilled fish came with french fries, lettuce, tomatoes and lemon. We had oil, vinegar, salt and pepper on the table and individually packaged wet wipes and napkins. The restaurant is right next to the 🏖️ beach.
