WARNING: DO NOT EAT HERE—POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!

I cannot stress this enough—avoid this restaurant at all costs. There are plenty of other options around the lake. My girlfriend and I went here for what we hoped would be a nice meal, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. The food was not just bad, it was spoiled. Everything we were served looked nothing like the pictures on the menu. The fish was visibly rotten, and the taramosalata had a horrendous stench that made it clear it was far from fresh.

What makes this even more alarming is that my girlfriend is pregnant. The food here was so questionable that we could have risked serious health issues. Thankfully, we didn’t eat anything, but the mere fact that this restaurant would serve such spoiled food is beyond unacceptable—it’s potentially dangerous.

To top it off, the waiter didn’t even ask why we didn’t touch our food. It was as if they were used to customers leaving their plates full. This level of neglect and disregard for basic food safety is shocking.

Sept. 2025 Don't waste your money here. We dropped in after walking along the the lake and ordered 2 x 500ml draught beers. It was quiet but all of the waiting staff had an attitude (even the young lad of about 10 yrs of age) and seemed to take offence when my wife wiped the table with a tissue after we had been ignored for 10 minutes or so. When the 2 beers arrived they were literally just over half full with beer and the remainder was froth. I took them back to the lady who was in charge and she firstly tried to pretend she didn't understand then started to argue and finally without saying anything more, just took them away in a huff. The beers reappeared but now somewhere around 2/3 full as she very grumpily dropped them back on our table, again with no comment or even a grudging apology - we drank up and paid up (full price). Really, as I say go somewhere else where they are happy to have your custom. After spending 2 weeks in Crete, this was by far our worst taverna experience - choose another taverna I'm sure you wont be...

The worst resturant experience I’ve ever had. First of all the service was not to be found, everyone around us was shaking their heads while the waiters went around like headless chicken, not knowing who ordered what and some tables had to wait over 30 minutes to even order something, absolute chaos. Then the milkshake arrived, warm.. Then after a long wait 45+ minutes the chicken pizza we ordered came. The one I got looked like a frozen pizza and it tasted dry and horrific while my girlfriend got a more of a home made pizza from the oven. When I confronted the waiter for the pizza he told me he did not understand the difference and was extremley rude and showed no sence of service at all! When I went to pay they didn’t understand either and almost got mad at me when I refused to pay for the pizza I got and only for my girlfriends. Horrible experience, never ever go and...
