Bōkan Coffee House — Restaurant in Municipality of Astypalaia

I will describe my experience in this coffee place : I walked into and I was attended by two ladies that didn't seem very happy when I asked the menu in English and some other questions. I think they might lack social skills when it comes to attend a foreign customer. Secondly, I ordered a toast sandwich, the woman coughed on it when she was putting the sandwich in a paper bag..She should have covered her face at least (common sense). The prices were higher than in the menu, they warned me about it before I ordered thou.. Regarding the coffee, just regular. Lastly, in most of the coffee shops when you ask for a glass of water they serve it with no problem. In this place they tell you to buy a bottle 🙈 Overall, not a great experience and I would rather try another coffee next time EDITED: Sorry but the many places where they serve water when a customer askes is not from the tap but from a mineral bottle just as a simple gesture. Bokan is the best coffee shop in Astypalaia cause it has a tasty coffee plus many other goods to drink or to eat .The lad who works there by the name Gabriel is the most sweet and helpfull person i have met in the island of Astypalaia .Everyday i was enjoying Bokans great coffee and sharing ideas about what to do at the island etc. and also have the most beautiful conversations with Gabriel .Thanks for the best coffee in town thanks for the company thanks for everything you...

We discovered this little café during our vacation on Astypalaia, and ended up coming back every single day! The coffee is absolutely delicious – they use TAF Coffee beans, which you can really taste in the quality. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the first visit. A true hidden gem with a cozy atmosphere and great vibes. Can’t recommend it enough! Greetings...
