Para thin alos Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Astypalaia

We had lunch 2 times in Para thin alos and we loved it. The armosphere of the restaurant is very relaxed, by the beach with a view of Chora to the left and the southern part of the island to the right.

Maria and her niece (I forgot her name, sorry!) were absolutely lovely, warm and kind, and we enjoyed talking to them about her life in Astypalea during the high and low season.

Regarding the food, we tried the zucchini balls (very soft and tasty), eggplant in the oven with feta cheese (incredibly delicious), lamb in the oven (melting in your mouth), shrimp pasta (amazing), linguini with vegetables and fish bites. And our 1,5 years old daughter loved the meatballs with fries too!

The house white wine and the beer was always ice cold, the way you want it when it's so hot.

We tried 2 other restaurants in the seafront, also great, but Para thin alos was way more classy, with a nice decoration, a relaxed atmosphere and also kid friendly.

We highly recommend Para thin alos and we would love to come back soon!!

1.5km away from Chora (down town) there is a little village called Livadia where a lovely restaurant: Para thin Alos is located.

They have a beach view, offering beach beds during the day, and you can enjoy their restaurant throughout the day whenever you’re feeling hungry.

Here we are, enjoying fantastic Greek food. Greek salad was a must, grilled octopus (super succulent and not overcooked), zucchini balls (super yummy), my favourite marinated anchovies, and a main to top it up with prawn linguine! Check out my pictures.

Everything was fab and we ate there while watching the sunset.

Lovely menu with plenty of choice. Greek salad was disappointing, served very cold rather than room temperature and the tomatoes weren’t particularly good. The small fried shrimps however were rich, tasty and a generous portion. Very helpful staff assisted me up and down the 3 steps. Good service and lovely view.
