🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable Hidden Gem in Corfu!
We stumbled upon this incredible little taverna tucked away off the beaten path—and what a find! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and authentically Greek, with vines and garden in covered outdoor seating, the scent of grilled herbs and delicious meat in the air.
The food? Absolutely next level. Every dish tasted like it came straight from someone’s yiayia’s (grandmother’s) kitchen—fresh, homemade, and bursting with flavor. The grilled ribeye and tomahawk pork was perfectly tender, the moussaka was rich and comforting, and the tzatziki was the best we had on the island (and we tried a lot).
The local wine flowed freely, and the staff were so friendly and incredibly welcoming.
It’s rare to find a place that feels so genuine—no tourist traps, just real, heartfelt hospitality and truly amazing food. If you’re visiting Corfu and want an authentic, unforgettable Greek dining experience, do not miss this place.

Read moreAt our 50s, we enjoy dinning out when in Greece or traveling abroad .ELIA is a gem. Greek and corfiot cuisine at its best (we found out mama and grand mama and son are all cooking), while we were astonished to taste their steaks. Delicious meat, made exactly at the roast level we ordered all 3 times we tried it. Their burgers should not be missed either, a greek yraditional burger recipe. Their rib eye is top-top and far superior to many of those served at much more expensive and fancy restaurants. Pastitsado (veal slowly cooked in tomato sauce) is even better than that of my mother's in law which i previously believed the best in the world. Everything we tried, starter, salad or main course was real quality. The place is very clean and simple, the atmosphere is nothing special, but absolutely not a problem for people who can appreciate good, non-touristy food. All at a very-very reasonable price. I would not complain or be surprised if they soon charge more. Impressed also by the service (including family members and 2 different staff that happened to be working when we visited).

Read moreThe food was fine, except the calamari which were not fresh at all and had a horrible smell. The service was pretty bad, the attitude of the waiters wasn’t very nice, nor very friendly with us or with the cats.
Also, why would people who don’t like cats come to Greece, especially on cat islands like Creta? We were a full table of people in love with cats and we went allowed to touch any cat around, they kept making the cats go away and the waiters were always around the tables taking out the cats. Honestly that was more annoying than just having some cats around us. Previous night we went at a lively restaurant by the beach, the cats were around us and we could fed them, the waiters were nice and we were laughing of that the cats were doing…it was such a nice atmosphere at the other restaurant! This Elia Tavera is totally what you don’t want from Greece. Mean and unfriendly. Horrible. We felt very bad here. Don’t recommend. Or yeah I recommend if you hate cats, perfect...
