Excellent experience in all aspects but best of all were our hosts!! The Brentano apartments were located along the coast between Perama and Benitses. They are located on a hillside with fabulous views looking east👍 ( see my pics). The hillside location makes having a car preferable since the walk up and downhill to catch a bus is doable but difficult in the hot Corfu sun. The rooms are well appointed and super clean. Daily maid service was excellent. The balcony facing east was perfect to catch the magnificent Corfu sunrise and was exceptional for gazing at the stars and planets in the evening. But beware----Corfu mosquitos in the evening can be fierce and they particularly enjoy a foreign meal or two🤣. Speaking of meals, breakfast was superb on the deck overlooking the pool. Mr. Brentano was the perfect host. He supplied us with everything needed for a memorable and relaxingly beautiful breakfast. There was always something new being offered to try for breakfast along with the tremendous amount of regular offerings. If you are lucky , your hostess , Ms. Panayiota will make you the very special Kaffee Marco ( a special blend of double espresso , with sugar and a little milk) . Highly recommended perfect way to start a Corfu morning. The swimming pool is an excellent way to start the day or end your day. Views from the pool deck are excellent, giving a person a wide expansive view of this coast. All in all this was one of the best vacations ever made the very best by our "hostess with the mostess", Ms. Panayiota! We will return again---hopefully sooner rather than later. Final take---Go, Chill, Enjoy!!!!!!! A View of Paradise from a Little...
Read moreWe had a really nice stay here. The apartments are run by a father and daughter and are really friendly and accomodating. They learnt our names which made us feel really welcome and helped us with booking taxis and motorbikes. They gave us advice about which restaurants to eat at in the area as well as corfu town. The view from the apartments, the pool and bar area is amazing. One of the best stays we have had and would definitely recommend to family and friends. The only negative to our trip which was out of the hotel's control was that there is a really nice village nearby (beniteses) with great restaurants and it is only around 2km walk but the road has no pavement so taxis were the only option if you wanted to have a drink with dinner. The charge is €10 each way which is excessive considering the distance and time it takes (roughly 5 minute ride). When we spoke to the taxi drivers and they said it was minimum fare of €10. I'm not sure whether the owners could maybe sort out some sort of deal with the taxi drivers to reduce this cost. As we spent €60 on taxis and thought the cost was getting excessive and therefore stopped traveling there for food which was a shame as there were many other great restaurants which we would have liked to try there. Another useful tip would be to book things through the hotel as they are often cheaper than elsewhere - especially airport transfer as. We went through booking.com to get to the apartment which was ~€36. When we got the transfer to the airport to go home through the hotel, it was on €20. I'd give our stay...
Read moreI'd rate this place between 3.5 - 4 stars, would definitely say it's nowhere close to some of the other 4 star hotels I've been to previously.
I'll start with the pros - great pool area & the views are incredible. Love watching sunrise from the pool area. Liked that the rooms also came with a kitchenette to allow for light cooking.
The rooms are decent & great that it includes daily cleaning/fresh towels.
Cons - Breakfast is very expensive considering the selection/options. I felt that it was also a little bit stingy (was only allowed one serving of eggs per person for 15 euros, despite it being a "buffet"). The actual buffet is very small, although I do like that they include a little treat everyday.
The bathrooms are very stuffy & not well ventilated. Aircons are also very weak - we had it on the lowest temperature/turbo settings and still found it super hot which meant we couldn't really get a good night's sleep. (keeping in mind the temperature was around 26 degrees every night).
Think a few people have mentioned in previous reviews but the main pool area/breakfast area is steep walk up/down from the rooms.
Location is average - you definitely need a car to stay here. It's about 20 - 25 mins from the airport & old town but there's not much else going on in the area. Beaches on the North West side is definitely better & keep in mind that it's hectic driving...
