Absolutely amazing dining experience – Da Marco, Ypsos, Corfu

During our stay in Corfu, one place stood out as a true culinary highlight – Da Marco in Ypsos. From the very first dinner, we knew we would be coming back, and we did. If only we had one more day, we would’ve come a third time – that’s how much we loved it.

The pork souvlaki – made with pork fillets – was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly grilled, juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The pizza was also excellent, with beautifully made dough – light, crispy, and delicious. And the calzone? Even better – a real treat for any Italian food lover!

I also have to mention the Greek salad – for me, the best one I’ve ever had. Fresh vegetables, cut into large, rustic pieces, arranged beautifully, with top-quality feta cheese that just melts in your mouth. It looked and tasted incredibly fresh.

But what truly makes Da Marco special is the owner – a man full of charisma, style, knowledge, and skill. Always smiling, clearly happy to have us as his guests. The service was excellent, and the whole place had such a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.

We were so satisfied that we came back again after a few days for another dinner. Unfortunately, with only six days on Corfu, we didn’t make it for a third visit – but we’re sure he was expecting us. 😉

There's a little tourist strip on the beach, north of Corfu Town on the island of Corfu (Kerkyra) in Greece. We walked a mile of this strip and found a slew of generic places that all looked disturbingly similar, and just about what you would expect for beach/tourist food.

Thankfully, we ended up at Ipsos Pasteria! A view of the bay, cloth table cloths, real hand-made pizzas, fabulous Greek salad, and you can't go wrong with a liter of the local red wine. The tall, thin waiter (who turned out to be the son of the owner) was attentive and thoughtful. When he heard us playfully negotiating over the last olive in the salad, he brought us a small bowl and said, "You like olives? These are the olives we don't even serve here; we save these for the family!" And we could see why, they were amazing!

Delicious food and amazing service!

We discovered Da Marco 4 days into our vacation. After having some disappointing meals at other places, we were ready for some good food. And we got more than that!

The food was so good that it literally put a smile on my face! The service was the best we've had in a long time and the prices very reasonable! We tried different salads, pasta and pizza and they were delicious every time!

We came back 3 times and would have come back many more if we had a longer holiday. Also, the music is great! Very enjoyable to listen to during our meals.
