We spent a week as a family (with two teenagers) enjoying the exceptional hospitality of Teresa and Sebastian. Teresa is an inspiration, showing how a well-run business radiates warmth and efficiency, while Sebastian has an incredible ability to make every guest feel valued and cared for. Their dedication is evident in the smallest details: the ceramic plates matching the dishes, the cozy bedding, and a carefully curated menu that delights with fresh, locally inspired cuisine.
The included breakfast and dinner were a true highlight, offering a delicious dive into traditional flavors while allowing us to unwind in a serene setting. Whether enjoying a meal under the stars or soaking in the rich local atmosphere, every moment at Sebastian's felt like an invitation to slow down and immerse yourself in the beauty of Corfu.
Beyond the tavern, it's an ideal base for exploring the island. Don't miss the picturesque olive grove trails nearby – a walk through them is an unforgettable journey into Corfu’s timeless landscapes. If you're looking for something truly special, seek out the ancient 1,500-year-old olive tree, an awe-inspiring testament to the island's rich heritage.
Sebastian's Tavern is not just a place to stay – it's a lesson in hospitality, a gateway to authentic Corfu, and a sanctuary for those who cherish genuine connection, great food, and a perfectly curated experience. Highly recommended for families seeking a meaningful,...
Read moreThis is a place I wanted to dine out when we first came to Corfu but didn't get the chance. Finally two days ago when coming from the beach I decided to go dine alone and wait till my husband finishes work and then joins me later. I know this is a place where you can make reservations but I gave it a go and went in without one. At the entrance I was greeted and said I am dining alone with my husband joining me later. The host told me I can only stay till 9pm (it was 7pm) as the table was reserved afterwards. He made me wait in front of the entrance till he seated other guests. Ok... Of course I was seated at the far end in the corner of the restaurant. Two waitress came to take my order. I had to explain to both of them that my husband will be joining me later and still one of them came to me to apologize that they gave me double menus and cutlery and I needed to remind her that I will be having company. This really made me uncomfortable and anxious. The staff went around all of the other tables and interacted with the guests, noone came to mine, i got the impression that if I sat alone noone wanted to treat me equally as the other couple guests. After my husband joined me everything went to normal. We got smiles, questions if the food was all right and all that usual stuff. The food was good, the interior is excellent and the atmosphere is so romantic but please don't be so judging if someone comes to dine alone, maybe some people like it that way and just want to enjoy the atmosphere and food. Be more mindful of other people please! In the end it's the experience that they get in your restaurant that will give you more money and...
Read moreOk the rooms are small, but really nice and comfy and fully functional with mini fridge, nespresso capsules daily, TV, powerful AC etc. The rooms are in a beautiful stone building with almost ocean views. The real bonus is the quality of the food. My Sebastian special omelette with bacon (instead of smoked turkey) was excellent. The coffee has UHT milk, which is the norm in Europe and not to my liking, but the Greek coffee was suburb. The Moussaka I had for dinner was excellent and authentic home cooked style, the stuffed whole calamari with prawns inside was very good. The baklava was also excellent. On the second night we had a fillet of fish, that was beautiful, and I ordered a mixed grill that was above average. The one thing I've learnt in Europe is they don't have meat like we do in Australia. The pork was a little dry but nice, the lamb was tender and delicious against the bone, but less so on the edges, the chorizo sausage was very nice, and large! The chicken skewer showed the lack of quality as it was not from breast meat, it was fatty chicken bits, but was pleasant to eat. The rib piece didn't fall off the bone and was messy to eat as it had small bones embedded in it. The mixed burger patty had strong herb flavours, not to my liking, but my wife enjoined it. The potatoes were good. It was a very generous serve as is all of their dishes. The following night, we had calamari entree, and due main I had beautiful fish and my wife had the eggplant main. All were lovely. I highly recommend Sebastian's Family Hotel...
