Go elsewhere if you want lamb chops, fried calamari or salad with prosciutto and cheese ( house salad). Lamb chops were too salty, which the waiter commented that it wasn't fit for children. Such a lame and bad excuse. We had the best lamb chops at Afionas which my children and us wolfed down so if yours are not fit for children, then you should better your recipe. They were burnt too. Secondly, your fried calamari tasted like wet dog. And lastly, the salad was not fresh, the croutons were not crunchy and the prosciutto was just dated.
We've also requested that the mixed fruit mojito be divided into two glasses but instead you expected us to do it ourselves. It was extremely watered down and just not worth the 7.50€
Service is just not on paar to what we've been experiencing in other restaurants in our 2 weeks here in Corfu. For 60€ for this experience for dinner, i would have rather have 10 gyros then step in here again.
Lots more to improve romantic palace!
Thank you owner for responding to this.
According to many previous reviews from most of your customers, I do not doubt that your team has performed to a certain level of hospitality that is in general good. Unfortunately in this case, it wasn't exceptional.
Your colleague refused to take the lamb back to the kitchen to try. I have also worked in the hospitality industry and that is probably something standard that most do. It was not about the herbs, it was just overly salted, and waiting for another dish of grilled lamb to be served would have been perhaps too long. It was already past sun down and with such strong winds that evening, I couldn't think of any other dishes that would be quick enough to fill the little ones tummies up before it became too uncomfortable for us, something of which your colleague would know better to remedy the situation.
We are generally not one to complain, but if this is the reaction we get from the first dish, how can we even go on about the others? Moreover, the calamari was the only thing that could salvage our hunger, even if it was also disappointing. And to even have ALL that was placed in front of us be of less than average quality, I was just taken by surprise. It just didn't match up with the other reviews.
It's alright. Many would still rave about your supposedly good food and great service. I am just writing about my experience and let others decide for themselves.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a welcoming, friendly staff who made us feel like family but what truly sets Romantic Palace apart is the restaurant. It’s the perfect blend of fine dining and laid back beach vibes. The menu features a mouth watering selection of local seafood, fresh salads, and traditional flavors, all served with a dash of creativity. A special shout out goes to Rania, the wonderful server at the restaurant and beach, whose warmth and attentiveness made every meal a delight, another highlight is the friendly and helpful Axileas, who also works at the beach. He made sure we had everything we needed, from comfortable loungers to cold drinks, and always checked in to make sure we were enjoying our time by the water. And of course, we can’t forget Akis, the talented bartender at the restaurant. Whether it was a refreshing cocktail at sunset or a chilled drink to enjoy by the beach, Akis knows how to craft the perfect beverage. His expertise and friendly banter made every evening feel even more special.

Read moreJust arrived back from a week at The Romantic Palace Hotel in beautiful Agios Gordios. What a fabulous stay we had. Many thanks to Alex, Stella, Maria and all the rest of the team for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. We stayed in The Loft, which was a lovely apartment at the top of the hotel complete with terrace looking out into the bay. Very comfortable bed and sofa, huge bathroom & shower room finished with a kitchenette and table. The room was cleaned everyday to a very high standard by some lovely and friendly staff. Some nights they left us fresh flower petal decorations which were lovely. Food in the hotel was excellent, we did not have a bad meal during our stay. Our favourites included Romantic Palace salad, Stifado, Moussaka, Pastitsada and some of the best lamb cutlets ever, so tender and juicy. Not to be missed is the twice weekly Greek Night, were some local musicians and dancers were joined by Alex and his father Mikalis. The skill of the musicians was brilliant and matched by Mikalis, as he firstly danced solo then led the audience dancing around the restaurant. A fabulous night to experience, with his own version of the Zorba dance and the smashing of many plates!!!! Thank you all , once again, for a lovely holiday. Hopefully we will visit again. Best wishes...
