I ended up eating here twice in the same day, so it’s safe to say I liked the place. For lunch, I had a meal on the sunbeds by the beach, and in the night, I dined at the restaurant itself. The atmosphere at night is lovely with music that perfectly matches the vibe and at just the right volume.
What made me choose it twice in one day is that, compared to other options on this side of the island, the menu is quite varied, prices are fair considering the beachfront location, and you can enjoy lunch right on the loungers.
The staff was friendly and attentive both times.
As for the food: at lunch, I had the fried squids and the tomato bruschetta. At dinner, I tried the fried feta cheese with honey and the moussaka. The food overall was very good — not exceptional, but definitely tasty.
The moussaka, in particular, was good but lightly seasoned, both in the meat sauce and the béchamel. I felt like I could have made something very similar at home, and when I try local dishes, I usually enjoy discovering flavors I wouldn’t get elsewhere. That didn’t quite happen here. Still, everything was well prepared, and that’s why I came back.
The house rosé wine was also very good.
Bottom line: good food, good service, and reasonable prices for...
Read moreI stayed at a nearby hotel recently and felt a bit manipulated when it came to dining recommendations. The staff strongly pushed us towards ARK, discrediting all other local restaurants as if they weren't worth considering. It gave the impression that there might be some kind of arrangement or commission deal between the hotel and ARK.
While ARK’s atmosphere was good (the food, however, wasn’t that great, maybe more suited for tourists), I couldn't help but feel that the higher prices might be due to this commission arrangement. It feels unfair to visitors who might not know the area well. I believe diners should be encouraged to explore all the options and choose based on the quality of food and personal preference, not be directed to one place just because of business agreements.
I also visited other nearby restaurants and noticed the difference. There were many other places that were busy (which usually means better food). If you're visiting the area, I’d suggest taking the time to explore different restaurants and make your own choice rather than following recommendations that might not have your best...
Read moreUpdate to my review made in 2021 when I first visited Arc. We went for a dinner to Arc on 16th of August and it was awful. It was nothing like the experience we had in 2021. Back then everything was fresh, full of flavours, our favouriteplace to visit. This year we went and everything was re-heated, even the french fries which were the easiest to prepare! I was actually shocked with the quality of food and especially for the prices Arc has these for, I had expected fresh homemade Mousaka and not the one stuck to the sides, reheated and at least fresh portion of chips and fresh salads on the plate. I am not sure if we were unlucky to visit at that particular day but it was a disaster. The only dish that actually tasted half decent was pork I ordered for my main but only for the meat, fries were reheated and mushy and cold. This put us off going Arc in the future. Unfortunately something happend since 2021 and food and dishes quality is not the same, maybe different chef. Good service and views however food...
