Mama's Place — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

My visit to Mama’s Place was unfortunately marred by a series of unsatisfactory events. Upon ordering the chicken souvlaki, I immediately noticed an unusual flavor that prompted a closer inspection of the dish. To my concern, the chicken appeared undercooked, evidenced by several noticeably pink sections. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, the response was disheartening. Rather than offering an apology or a suitable explanation, a waiter, struggling with English, dismissed my concerns by stating the meat was thigh and naturally a different color. This disregard for the off-taste I reported was compounded by the insistence that I pay for the dish, without any acknowledgment of my dissatisfaction. A lot of hotel and villa guides will tell you to go to a female named tavera in Chorafakia. Come here instead. Drive, get a taxi, whatever it takes to get here! Portions of really tasty food, the size of your head, are the standard here. You could easily share a gyro portion, and the chocolate cake was enough for all four of us.

I also had the beef stew, and I didn't cut that beef...it fell apart all by itself. As it should. The staff were so friendly and incredibly helpful with correcting my broken Greek. They went out of their way to encourage me to speak the language and repeat things for me. Additionally, the service for food was impeccable. Prompt, hot, cooked well, and with care.

If you're looking for a restaurant for this evening, you've found it. Book a cab, have a drink and enjoy yourself! You don't have to worry, Mama is taking care...

I ate here alone twice during my short holiday.Gyros with pitabread and french potatatoes,well i have eaten better portions in other part of island..The plate included tzaziki which i love,but it was only just A teaspoon and the salad was dry,not fresh.But they gave me at least a small icecream..
