I ordered on the morning of 9th of July, Sunday. I did the order by efood. As soon as I finished and sent the order, I got a message saying it would take them 45min. I had to go to work (I work everyday, so also Sunday) so I panicked and gave them a call, asking whether it would indeed take them 45min because to deliver; if yes, I wanted to cancel the order. The woman on the phone ensured me that 45min was not the actual time, and that the order would come (sic) immediately.
35min later, and while I am on a huge rush to leave my house to go to work, I gave them a call to see what is going on. Of course they started the stupid excuses about their delay. The delivery arrived after a total of 40min.
The coffee, which was supposedly hot nescafe, had turned to room temperature and they didn't even apologize. Instead they said that they were "calling me" and weren't able to locate me. Of course we live on 2023 and thankfully we have the technology to know whether they were lying or not. Shortly after I got the message of their supposed calls: they did call me, 3 minutes before the delivery, while I was anyway on the phone with Moderno, asking them what was going on. I regret not only my order but also my tip (10%...
Read moreGreat take away, absolutely terrible cafe. We got pastries, desserts & ice creams here over the course of a week's stay nearby. The take away was always good, especially the desserts. However, we ate in the cafe one Saturday morning & the service was TERRIBLE. No menus brought (or even a hello, I'll be right with you). When we did order there was a 50 minute gap between drinks & food. My daughter's pacakes arrived well after the rest of us had finished eating. A measly "sorry" from the waiter when the final dish arrived, 1 hour after we sat down. There were 4 of us and 2 of us only ordered sandwiches that were already sat prepared in the main shop.
So, drop in for take away by all means but...
Read moreReview for end of June 2025: A good bakery with a lot of varieties of pastries, some sandwiches and coffee types. There are also cakes (sweets) and ice-cream in scopes like Italian Gelato.
It could get crowded when ordering, however it's the best freddo cappuccino in Crete (after 5 days of unsatisfactory trials) and delicious bougatsa pastry.
Parking is somehow difficult to find, although there are 4-5 free parking spots in front of the establishment.
There is an outdoor patio area divided into 3 large areas, it could sit more than 25 tables.
Ice-cream was perfect, a strawberry sorbet "by the books" (2€/scoop).
There are 2 cashier desks, both accept payment by card or tap to pay or NFC or...
