This is the BEST restaurant my husband and I have ever been to. We are HUGE foodies with favorites from the Philippines to our recent visit in Spain. Our hotel concierge suggested this restaurant among others and the pictures on tripadvisor drew us to this restaurant.Angelos is by far the best we have ever had. From the very moment we stepped in Angelos beautiful restaurant with grape vines on the ceiling, the owner himself greeted us with the warmest welcome. He helped us navigate through the menu and suggested that any dish we picked would be excellent because he specifically curates his menu and ingredients. I was craving for fresh some seafood, so Angelo took us to the back and showed us his freshest catch of the day, I went with the seabass and my husband chose the lamb chops. We ordered some greek salad and a bottle of wine. The food was absolutely AMAZING for the price. We ended our meal with a free dessert and rakis! We ABSOLUTELY loved our experience and went AGAIN the next night. Angelo was still SO welcoming and gave us a great seat once again. I was STILL craving seafood and remembered seeing how amazing the tiger prawns were on the reviews along with the tomahawk. We ordered the cocktails, greek salad, saganaki with honey &sesame, tiger prawns and pork tomahawk. LET ME TELL YOU how special Angelo made us feel. It was our anniversary and we didn't even tell him but still got amazing service. He uniquely curated my tiger prawn dish just for me (even with a cute little sparkler) also I was craving rice and he exceeded my expectations. The tiger prawns were HUGE. Bigger than the ones I've had in asia/hawaii. The rice he made was SO amazing. My husbands pork tomahawk was absolutely the best ever. I have never had such amazing food and service in my life and I've traveled all over. Angelos needs to be featured on Netflix or needs a michelin star. Literally thinking about going back before we fly out. I LOVE this place so much. You feel so great after eating because of food and the service. Angelos is the...
Read moreWe had a mixed experience tonight The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the quality of service and food deteriorated significantly once we had a complaint. The food was generally good, but there were a few notable issues. The fresh grilled fish I ordered was served with salad leaves only, instead of the promised chips (fries), which was confirmed before ordering by the waitress. The fried squid we requested from the menu was replaced with grilled calamari. When we brought this to the owner's attention, he responded with a grimace and a dismissive gesture, no apologies, but he replaced the dish with the fried calamari. However, all the garnishing was gone from the plate and we ended up with the mains presented as an appetizer on a small plate. The coffee frappes were also handled poorly, with one order being forgotten and no communication about the limited availability. Also we noticed that our table were treated differently, probably due to our complaints. All other table received fruit salad with ice cream as a gift along with the final bill, except us.
While the restaurant has a high review score, our experience was far from positive. We felt that our complaints was not taken seriously, and the overall service was lacking. It's disappointing that such a highly rated establishment could treat customers so poorly. We would not recommend this restaurant to others based on...
Read moreScammers! My husband and I were charmed by the waiter as we passed by so agreed to call in later for dinner. The waiter was quite pushy trying to get us to order extra food items, but we stuck to our guns and ordered one dish each. We also asked for a glass of house rosé each. The waiter arrived over with 2 split bottles (1/4 bottles of wine) and screwed the caps off as he approached the table. He poured mine first and I tasted it..it did taste a little light, but it was fine. He then poured my husband’s which turned out to be a much darker shade of rosé (much redder). I pointed out to the waiter that they were different colours but both bottles had the same label and should be the exact same wine. I tasted my husband’s wine and it was heavier and quite bitter. My husband said he didn’t want it, and had a beer instead. Upon closer inspection, the rosé bottles were quite worn on the label and I realised that they obviously fill up these bottles from some other source. My guess by the fact that they were different from each other that they pour leftover wine into them. Obviously we had a sour taste in our mouths after this and just had a bad feeling about the whole experience. When the food arrived, the meat was fine (a little overcooked). The chips were really greasy and we just couldn’t wait to leave. It turned out to be pricy too. Defo will never return. Felt...
