Pappardelles Kitchen & Coffee Lab Chania — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

Nice place, clean space, situated right on the main street. We had pizza on the spot and Carbonara as take away. Food is OK but do not expect above average. Now, depending on your expectations and/or on your previous experiences you might find the food better than the average. But I could not find that wow factor to make me say that is more than average. Is just food, normal food, good food but nothing special about it. For instance, they have two kinds of the same food: Carbonara and "original" Carbonara (if the second one is "original", the first one is fake? 🤔). Anyhow, ordered "original" Carbonara hoping that is made as I knew from Italy. Not at all. It was not Italian "original". We were disappointed. It was a little bit too tasteless. My wife tried to taste it and when realised is not the proper original Carbonara recipe as in Italy, abandoned it and did not eat it anymore. My wife is telling me that the Carbonara she has seen at the table was OK but what was taken away was not OK at all. Good point is that the size of the dishes is OK. If you order a pizza, do not go for a large size unless you order it for at least two persons. Large /medium size is more than enough...

It's a shame to give it a single star, because the food was good... there was a bit of nylon in the pizza, but it happens. Sometimes when I shred cheese same thing happens to me...

The reason I give it a single star is because through the whole duration in Greece everywhere I've stayed was served free water, included in this place the first time, but the second I haven't it was 23.08 in the middle of the day, and noticed everyone gets complimentary water, exception was my table... I've asked for water and got bottled one without being asked, noticed the waitress went to the older one and had a small chat then went to the fridge and got me bottled one. I've asked why only our table didn't have complimentary water just like the first time we went there, received a shrug and "oh don't know". Was thinking it's something personal from the first time, but couldn't be because I've left a tip and been nice to everyone... usually it's not a big deal, but it's enough to ruin your meal. As I've said again the food is great, the reason I came second time, the weird attitude and discriminate was the reason for...
