Whilst we were staying at the hotel, we knew we had to try out the resturant in the evening. Not only was the view gorgeous of the ocean as well as the glowing town's and village's. The food was great too.
We ate on our first night there and enjoyed food off the usual menu. Complimentary bread and oil to start of the meal which tasted divine, especially when it was warm the pitta bread melted in your mouth. Me and my partner had traditional Greek main's which were equally as great.
The second and third night we had dish of the day which was recipes from within the family. Meat which had been cooked for hours which didn't even need a knife due to it just falling apart. The taste was never bland, always seasoned. You could taste all the ingredients and passion that went into the making of the dish. Compliments to all the chefs, you nailed it every night!
Last but not least you could not forget the waiting staff! As we stayed in the hotel we has built up a relationship with them, but with every quest they were attentive, kind as well proffesional. Like I mentioned in my review about the hotel, all the staff there provide service like no other.
If you want a beautiful view, great traditional food as well as attentive, kind staff. This place will give you all of...
Read moreBlue Moon is an exceptional restaurant to say the least. It is part of a Hotel but also a separate restaurant. We made reservations online and got a nice table.
We were welcomed personally by restaurant manager George.
The location provides a dreamy view of Chersonissos as its close to the top of a mountain.
The waiters are truly kind all qualified and experienced sommeliers and guided us through the menu including the 150 available wines.
The menu is small - as it should be. Our main courses were Truffle Risotto and the Deconstructed Mousaka. As starters we had pita, tzaziki and Ceviche. All of which were excellent. I have full faith their other options are equally as good.
We also got a stunning free desert. Overal, the experience can be summarized as a Michelin star experience that we will surely come back to in our visits to Crete.
While Its a 10/10 restaurant. My only point of critique would be; some items like the beef seem a bit too expensive, but admittedly I have not tried them and most beef on Crete is imported making it a more expensive option. Considering the quality of our visit - I will try it on our next...
Read moreWe’ve visited the area 3 years in a row and are surprised by how we have never tried this restaurant. It is one of our top 2 of all the ones we’ve visited.
Very modern, and chic, dining area with a great ambience. The food menu is top, and found it hard to choose an option because they all sounded tasty.
We decided on the pork tagliata and beef bistro steak, with focaccia and dips as our starter.
The pork tagliata was cooked very well, and seasoned generously. It sits on crusty, toasted bread. The pork was salty, crispy and juicy and the accompanying pickled onions added a great contrast the saltiness, which their acidity.
The bistro steak with garlic butter came out unmelted, and the waiter melted it in front of us which is a nice touch. It was cooked well, and very meaty. The homemade chips were incredible also. A side of mixed vegetables or broccoli would go great with this meal.
The only ‘negative’ is that we didn’t get raki after our meal, but got a fruity shot instead. But that’s just our personal love for...
