By far the worst meal of our holiday.

We visited as a group of seven after hearing glowing reviews, but the experience was a complete letdown from start to finish.

After placing our order for both starters and mains, we were informed that three of the starters were unavailable. We reordered without issue, but then the problems escalated. Garlic bread was brought out with cheese, despite us clearly stating twice that it was to be without. It was sent back and returned incorrectly not once, but two more times—each time still with cheese.

When the starters eventually arrived, one was missing. After asking about it on three separate occasions, we were finally told that it was no longer available—something that should have been communicated immediately.

We also ordered drinks, three of which were missing. After following up, they arrived 25 minutes later. We placed another drink order before the mains arrived, only to receive part of it—three drinks out of seven. The remaining four drinks were finally served after everyone had finished eating, a full 40 minutes later.

To make matters worse, we were passed between multiple members of staff throughout the night, none of whom took accountability or showed any urgency in resolving the issues.

Extremely disorganised, poorly managed, and not at all reflective of the positive reviews we had read. A deeply...

Absolutely appalling experience – avoid at all costs. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place had no idea how to manage a dining experience. We were shoved next to the kitchen, away from everyone else, because they apparently “had no room” at the back — fine, we accepted that. What wasn’t fine was being completely ignored for 20+ minutes at a time, over and over again.

It took nearly half an hour just to be asked what drinks we wanted. Then, after ordering our starters, we were told 10 minutes later that HALF of them weren’t available. When the food finally came, we were still missing one — the calamari. We asked FIVE different waiters about it, only to be told, after everyone else had finished, that they didn’t have it. Why even take the order in the first place?

Drinks came out in random bursts, despite being basic orders like Coke and beer. What kind of restaurant can't even manage that?

And while the meals were passable (just okay, nothing special), the owner’s attitude was a disgrace. She promised to “sort it out” — instead, she palmed us off to her clearly overwhelmed and confused staff. No apology. No effort. No compensation.

A night that was meant to be special with friends turned into a frustrating disaster. We paid in full — not a discount, not a single gesture to make up for the trainwreck of service.

Do yourself a favor: go literally...

The restaurant was pretty packed, but one of the staff members got us a nice spot with an excellent view. It was busy, but the atmosphere was still somewhat intimate. I ended up ordering the "moussaka", which was well-cooked and tasty. However, I would've loved to have had a bit more "oomph" to it (some extra spices/herbs). My partner had the "mixed grill", which had all kinds of meat options that I got to try a bite (or two) from as well. If you're looking for something filling and tasty yet "soft" flavour-wise, I'd recommend the moussaka. If you'd rather have some more variety, I'd say the mixed grill is a great option. Despite how busy it was, we had our meal in about twenty minutes. The service was impeccable. The staff made you feel right at home and were more than happy to help. My partner ended up wanting some more sauce with his food, and that was no problem whatsoever. I'd absolutely...

Great service, great food, fantastic views. Elena (apologies if spelt incorrectly) was super friendly with our youngest, bringing him a free gift, and a dessert in addition to the complementary dessert that the three of us shared. Prices were very fair. Portion sizes were well judged. The toilets which I wouldn't normally comment on were set up with a full-on changing table for babies with nappies and toilet training seats for younger kids. Again, this just shows how family friendly this restaurant is. Recommended. Update August 2025: Visited again in a larger group last night. Food pics added. The owners remain very friendly and warm hosts. The service from the rest of the staff was ok. Food on the whole was excellent, especially the pork shank. But I wouldn't recommend the pizza or garlic bread, as it had a very thin base which dried up quickly. Still 100% recommend, just not the pizza bases

There are lots of restaurants to choose from in the area, and in truth, most are very good. Some are fantastic, and the food and overall service at Oniro drop it firmly into this category. It's a smidge more expensive (around €5-10 per head, so not a lot) than the majority, but not many compare, and you get what you pay for. We had a mixed grill, pasta, a calzone, and lamb chops, and all were cooked to perfection using top quality ingredients. The view over to the harbour is also staggering. If you're compiling a list of restaurants to visit and you leave this one off....... then you're making a mistake.
