Woodstone cocktails and beers Gastropub — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Warmth, value and great food!! After arriving from our evening flight, we decided to visit Woodstone due to its location being so close to our accommodation. A really nice venue for food on the roof terrace and the staff so genuinely friendly and attentive.

As it was late we decided upon pizza and a burger (Yes, not a traditional Cretan meal but we had 14 nights to savour all the village delights).

What impressed us was the freshness of the meals, the portions and value.

Due to the hospitality, we decided to eat at Woodstone again and we decided upon the mixed grill for two and a Cretan salad. The food was again presented nicely, was really tasty and good value. Staff again were so warm and attentive.

We were on Crete for a week but we accepted the steep footpath to Koutouloufaris three times to have a drink there. Friendly staff, well prepared cocktails. Tables don't stand to narrow, so you never feel disturbed by neighbours, like in many bars by the sea. Exciting view downhill. Pleasant music, mostly 80s and 90s, that also our children (10-20y) liked. Quiet enough to chat. No annoying and loud disco beats that you will mainly find down in Bars by the sea. Due to our half board arrangement we didn't eat there so we can't say anything about the taste of the food. But it looked good. What might bother someone are the cats strolling around. Lovely place worth a visit. Good food and lovely roof top restaurant that has great views and a nice breeze to take the heat off you a bit. Kleftiko - the portion looks small but it is very filling, you will do well to finish it. It comes cooked in tin foil with potatoes and carrots etc, just as it should be. The lamb is on the bone, not for everyone but very tasty. Pork souvlaki - tasty and served with the best home cooked chips, salad, pita bread and fantastic tzatsiki. Swordfish - also good, served with rice, roast veg and salad. Served in a bit more of an upmarket way. Local wine also very good. There prices are very very reasonable. Well...
