It's a must to stop by this restaurant. We were there in September 2022. According to our impression, the restaurant has just been renovated.
They show it off. A restaurant in the low price category without compromising on quality and service.
It was more than super:
The staff: six stars out of five. The Cretans are very friendly. But the waiter in this restaurant surpassed that again. If hospitality has a name, then it is the name of this restaurant.
Menu: 5/5 The prepared menus were all of high quality. No ageing Potatoes or things that had been prepared long before. They are all beautifully decorated and lovingly prepared.
Restaurant: WC 5/5 stars. They were the cleanest and most newly renovated toilets I have seen in Crete.
Price/performance 5/5: Incredibly good value for money. -Grilled octopus 12 euros. -Classic long drinks and Aperol Spritz 5.5 euros.
We drank a lot of Aperol Spritz which is why we paid more per person. (google rating)
Shop 4/5: They have a small shop in the restaurant where they sell local and high quality products from...
Read moreWe visited Queens Family Taverna for a dinner yesterday evening. To deescribe the food and the Taverna in a word: PERFECT!
The Taverna is really clean (the cleanest Restaurant we ever visited) beautifully decored (traditionelly greek). What we really enjoyed Was the traditional music in the background.
The food was really really good and delicious: We ordered a greek salad, the cretan cheese, calamaris, the homemade bread and the homemade Raki. They have a variety of traditional greek food and cretan specialities. The Portion size was good and the price too.
You can See all the efford of this taverna - also the Staff was really friendly even they were bussy.
Another plus is that they sell unique products which they made by themselfs. Aspecially the caramalised Orange jam was soo good.
All in all, we can recommend Queens Family Taverna - we had the perfect evening and I am Sure that we re going to visit it more Times as long as we...

That is why, I was absolutely surprised that I had neither heard of nor had visited this restaurant. That is a sign of a truly good family restaurant for me: We want the love of cooking passed down through the generations right onto our plate. Everything we had was absolutely delicious, fresh and seasoned to perfection including the local sodas(sour Cherry) that they have as part of their menu.
I can only recommend this...
