Arrived at 8pm prompt with my partner, shown to table with menus and no one returned even after 20mins. Had to call waiter over to order drinks, other people had arrived in this time, a couple of large tables and obviously regulars but we were left and ignored. Drinks arrived, put on table and waiter left, to busy to serve other people and I certainly wasn't going to shout at them. They proceeded to take everyone else's orders again and we were left till last. My first choice mains was sold out, there's a surprise 😮 so went for something else. Arrived within 20 mins, tucked in and food was nice, wanted another drink but again no service. So finished meal and waited and waited as we wanted drinks, coffee and some desert, wated another 20 mins of being ignored so eventually went to the desk and pay bill. What little second choice food I had was nice but the service is absolutely abysmal! 2hrs for some bread which you are charged for wether you like it or not (cover) and a main. No it wasn't particularly busy but it's obvious which they look after, large tables and groups of women. I...
Read moreNot sure what to expect once I've posted this review as it seems criticism is not tolerated seeing other responses to customers. The restaurant is lovely looking with inside and outside seating. Tables are nicely spaced for some privacy for couples and families alike. The atmosphere is good all positive so far, then we get to the food and it's more cafe/bar food than restaurant. Traditional dishes served with fries and soggy ones at that, odd vegetable selections and no thought for presentation but this is OK as long as food tastes good. Generally it does taste good but vegetables over cooked. Fish was lovely but no sauce with it. Main course over asked for dessert menu and waited twenty minutes, never materialsed so asked for bill along with several other tables. After paying, lady came around again and asked had everyone paid. If there was as much attention to food and service as there was to making sure everyone paid then this would be a...
Read moreWe were staying at The Island hotel just down the road and found this taverna one lunch time. Lovely rustic decor. Clean. Friendly staff. Fans to keep you cool. We had Greek salad and sheperd salad ....delicious and big portions. Once we had found this place we kept going back! We had starter sharing platter which was more than enough for two for our lunch another day. Note they do automatically bring you bread and olives before you order and this is charged 50 cents each, but then you get complimentary liquer after your meal. A small point to be aware of...just tell them if you dont want bread! We were impressed enough to choose to dine there one evening and forego our already paid for meal at our hotel....
