The proprietor was very aggressive in getting us in the door to start with. Only 3 tables occupied was maybe a red flag. The shrimp spaghetti was a delight. The sauce was rice and flavourful and the shrimp cooked well. Reasonably priced and a decent selection of beer. Wine was good and quite cheap. The reason for at least two stars.
Now for the bad news…..my wife ordered the pork tenderloin and, well I guess the only way to describe it was shoe leather. Very dry tough and little to no seasoning. The “potatoes “ we were expecting turned out to be fries and below average at best.
She had maybe two bites and the server, who didn’t seem interested at to be there, ask if she didn’t like it, didn’t offer to replace it or offer an alternative. The owner did also ask and when we told them the issue he also didn’t offer a replacement or to even take it off our bill. He stated “ that’s how we eat pork here”.
When the bill came, the charge was there for the meal that wasn’t eaten, and no offer to discount. To their credit, once we asked to remove the charge for the uneaten meal, they did take 10 euro off the bill.
Would not recommend and we dealt cheated after we left. Please avoid as there are lots of...
Read moreWe tried 90 Moires on the waterfront and it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Greece.
Right away, the signs were there: a broken high chair for our 11-month-old, and a server who came to our table smoking a cigarette while my baby sat there. To make things worse, we were seated beside a group all lighting up.
The service was pushy — the waiter tried to force us into ordering what he wanted, not what we asked for. I don’t drink, yet instead of bringing my wife a glass of wine, he sent over half a liter without asking. Classic upsell move.
And the food? Truly awful. The salad had no flavor, the zucchini fritters bland, the chicken souvlaki rubbery and fatty (clearly frozen and reheated), and the loukaniko burnt and tasteless. When I refused to pay for it, the server argued until I put him in his place the Greek way.
It’s never fun to write a negative review, but travelers deserve honesty. Greece has incredible food and hospitality — just not at these tourist-trap spots along the waterfront. If you want the real experience, walk a few streets away from the views and find a family-run taverna. You’ll eat better, pay less, and actually feel the Greek...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at 90 Moires during my recent visit to Gythio, and it was exceptional. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with stunning views that truly capture the essence of the area.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was a celebration of local ingredients and traditional flavors, skillfully elevated to create something truly special. Everything tasted super fresh
What made the experience even more memorable was the incredible service. Our waiter, Petros, was warm, attentive, and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. He was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations.
The owner, Agis, also took the time to greet us personally, adding a personal touch that made us feel like cherished guests. It’s clear that both Petros and Agis are passionate about what they do, and it reflects in every aspect of the restaurant.
If you’re in Gythio, 90 Moires is an absolute must. I can’t...
