Η Τράτα — Restaurant in Municipality of East Mani

I left feeling that special kind of pain yet absolute satisfaction that Greeks have from over eating! This was the best seafood that I have had in Greece and honestly Australia for sometime! Fried calamari …super fresh, fried gavros (male sardines caught that morning) so fresh that we ate them whole! The char grilled octopus! Chewy, yet the flavour mind blowing ..all with a Greek salad that was literally straight from the garden … my mum grew our vegetables and it tasted the same! Great job by Petros and team …. I waddled out feeling 6 months pregnant and told him that I feel like I finally was back in Greece! Waterfront dining and it could not get any more authentic ….and the value? Would have cost at least double in Australia with far less quality!

Had ther been more than just dad and his daughter ( using my wife’s account here) we would have ordered their seafood platter, 18 euros for a pyramid of seafood! We sat back and watched people demolishing these! For next time when we bring more family and friends! Thank you Trata from the...

A friend recommended Η Τράτα and I am so happy. Right by the water with a beautiful scenery laid out before us. The service was fantastic and so friendly. The food, omg, the food is brilliant. We ordered Mrs. Panayiotis zucchini pie, garden fresh zucchini with loads of dill and local cheese. The horta was vlitta, a spring wild greens that is rare and of course gorgeous with lots of their own evoo and lemons. Greek salad and homemade bread, yum. And real home fries. And a huge platter of fried seafood...all right from the sea beside us, shrimp that is the most tasty I have ever had the pleasure to experience. All types of fish, and calamari. All cooked in their olive oil, in a seasoned dry rub. So, so goooood! And the 2 cats that came by were the most polite...

Familar atmosphere & just the main street between the tables and the sea.

The food was alright. Unfortunately a lot of menu items from the big display on the street were crossed out on the paper menus we were handed. (Kokkinisto, Moussaka,...) What was left was just very standard dishes. The preparation of those was nothing special, nothing spectacular. We ended up ordering: Tirokafteri with bread, Chicken Souvlaki, Mani's smoked pork and half a litre of wine, 1l of water.

The meat was by far less tasty and juicy than everything we had in Greece.

Total: 25€ - still a very ok price. Compared to the value for money of the places around it, it does not keep up. So we would say: don't come here for the food, come for the view and the...
