Kalamies Seaside Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Eastern Samos

Most Horrible Attitude and the worst dinner we had in Samos. We unfortunately had a very unhappy experience. We were searching a restaurant to sit all together with friends in Kokkari. And almost all restaurants were telling and inviting us that they had available tables. Finally we went till the end of yhe bay and decided to sit here. There were only few tables occupied when we were seated because this restaurant is at the end of the bay. With our help because we carried the tables and chairs. Some tables had dirty dishes that were never cleared, even after we finished our dinner. We waited a long time for menus, and since they did not have enough and also we have to wait our friends to finish reading all so that they can pass the menus to us. How come a restaurant with 30-40 tables capacity have only 5-6 menus? It took a while to give our orders because while we started giving orders the waiters were excusing us and going to do something and then coming back and continue getting our orders. So to give orders for 10 people took almost half an hour. All this time they gathered more new customers. They confused all orders because they never listened carefully or within hurry they took the orders wrong. Main dishes arrived earlier then starters. Instead of beer they brought something else. Also instead of red wine they brought white one. In general the behaviours and quality was terrible. View is excellent but not worth the price of such slow and terrible service. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant!

It is located in Kokkari and has the best full view of the port! It is completely by the sea and decorated in blue and white. You feel relaxed in this beautifull atmosphere!

All the portions were really big! The Greek salad had the best sweet tomatoes of the island and a big piece of feta cheese. The grilled kalamari filled with feta cheese and sun dried tomatoes was the best I've ever had! It comes with fries and rice which served on a side dish. This restaurant is well known for the sea food but really try meat for sure. It was perfectly grilled and delicious. Kids many times prefer meat so we ordered steak and souvlaki. Both came with tzatziki,fries,rice and pita. I forgot to mention the zucchini that are cut like fries and I have no foto because they disappeared at once! Family dinner or romantic dinner both are great.

Wir besuchten das Restaurant Kalamies mit der Hoffnung, die besten Calamari auf Samos zu genießen. Das Ambiente des Restaurants war angenehm, und wir bestellten Wein, Wasser, eine Vorspeise und die gegrillten Calamari. Leider wurden unsere Erwartungen in Bezug auf die Calamari enttäuscht, da sie zäh und gummiartig waren. Allerdings war der Rest der Speisen in Ordnung.

Der Service war jedoch das eigentliche Problem. Drei Bedienungen waren anwesend, zwei jüngere Frauen und eine ältere Dame. Als die ältere Dame nach unserem Essen fragte, informierte ich sie freundlich über die zähen Calamari, aber dass der Rest in Ordnung war. Ihre Antwort war enttäuschend, da sie behauptete, berühmt für ihre Calamari zu sein, und ohne eine Entschuldigung einfach davonlief. Danach wurden wir nicht mehr bedient, unsere Teller wurden nicht abgeräumt, und es wurde nicht nach weiteren Getränken gefragt.

Die Tatsache, dass das Essen manchmal nicht perfekt ist, kann passieren, aber die Art und Weise, wie wir danach behandelt wurden, war absolut inakzeptabel. Als zahlende Gäste erwarten wir höflichen und respektvollen Service. Leider war das nicht der Fall. Aufgrund dieser enttäuschenden Erfahrung werden wir definitiv nicht mehr in dieses Restaurant zurückkehren.

Wir hoffen, dass das Management dieses Feedback nutzen wird, um ihre Calamari und ihren Service zu verbessern, damit zukünftige Gäste eine angenehmere Erfahrung haben können.

We visited the restaurant Kalamies with the hope of enjoying the best calamari in Samos. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, and we ordered wine, water, an appetizer, and grilled calamari. Unfortunately, our expectations regarding the calamari were disappointed as they were tough and rubbery. However, the rest of the dishes were okay.

The service, however, was the real issue. Three servers were present, two younger women, and an older lady. When the older lady asked about our food, I politely informed her about the tough calamari but mentioned that the rest was fine. Her response was disappointing as she claimed they were famous for their calamari and simply walked away without an apology. After that, we were not attended to further, our plates were not cleared, and we were not asked about additional drinks.

While occasional imperfections in the food can happen, the way we were treated afterward was completely unacceptable. As paying customers, we expect polite and respectful service. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Due to this disappointing experience, we will definitely not return to this restaurant.
