Massati — Restaurant in Municipality of Ierapetra

We tried this place yesterday evening. Very clean and nice setup, disinfection bottles at the tables, waiter was wearing a mask. The constant fresh wind made it nice to sit outside and watch the people walk by on the pier/promenade. We were 6 people and the only guests around 6pm, sad to see how COVID impacts the local restaurants. We were given complimentary bottles of water, fresh baked bread and various dips (olive, tomato and greek tzatziki) which were delicious. We ordered a few different appetisers and each one was superb (the combination of wine leaves with rice and other greek specialties was the best, but vegetables tempura and hand made potato gnocchi were also fantastic). I hindsight we could have just ordered more appetisers but we also had 6 main courses. Massati penne with chicken and mushrooms were delicious, so were the two Massati burgers with bacon and caramelised onions, lettuce, etc. Our youngest had a pork schnitzel (breaded, German style) and was also very happy with the huge portion and great taste. The waiter was very attentive but kept a distance, always just a look to make him come over. After the main course we got a surprise desert on the house, two bowls of a house made cocos/vanilla almond pudding, fantastic taste. Πράγματικα είναι πολύ δύσκολο να στηθεί ενα κατάστημα φαγητού που ταυτόχρονα θα απευθύνεται και σε Έλληνες μα και σε τουρίστες !! Εδώ η προσπάθεια μοιάζει να έχει καλές βάσεις ώστε να πετύχει.

Ένας χώρος μεγάλος που ακολουθεί μια φιλοσοφία δίχως φιλοσοφία.. 6.5/10 Φαγητό 8/10 που με λίγη προσοχή/προσπάθεια εύκολα θα μπορούσε να πάει και παραπάνω.

Σνίτσελ κοτόπουλο. 7.5/10 γευστικό αλλά υπέρμετρα λεπτό

Κοτόπουλο σουβλάκι 9/10 γευστικό μαλακό ακόμα και την επόμενη μέρα, σωστή επιλογή κρέατος, μπράβο!!

Χοιρινό σουβλάκι. 6/10 σκληρό πολύ, εδώ θέλει χοιρινό λαιμό και το πρόβλημα θα εξαφανιστεί. Επίσης μικρό σε μέγεθος σε αντίθεση με το κοτόπουλο σουβλάκι που είναι ίσως 30% μεγαλύτερο.

Πανσετα. 8/10 καλή

Μπιφτέκι. 7.5/10 ουδέτερο

Κοτόπουλο παιδάκι 8/10 καλό

Σαλάτα σιζαρ. 7/10 εδώ θέλει για αρχή άλλο πιο ποιοτικό τυρί και Όχι σε αυτή την φτηνή όψη κοπής

Ψήσιμο 7/10 εν μέρει λίγο απρόσεκτο δίνοντας είναι έντονο και αδικαιολόγητο σκούρο χρώμα στα σουβλάκια .

Τιμές. 8/10 λογικές για την εποχή που διανύουμε.

Πατάτες τηγανητές. 8.5. πολύ καλές

Τέλος τα ξυλάκια που περνιούνται τα σουβλάκια είναι εντελώς λανθασμένη επιλογή (πάντα κατά την γνώμη μας) θέλει πιο μεγάλο και χοντρό ξυλάκι κάτι που θα αναδείξει το κοτόπουλο σουβλάκι το οποίο είναι απίστευτα στριμωγμένο στο συγκεκριμένο ξυλάκι και σίγουρα μπορεί να το υποστηρίξει από το βάρος που ένιωσα.

Σίγουρα θα ξανα πηγαίναμε στο συγκεκριμένο εστιατόρια. Ελπίζω να βοήθησα την ομάδα να δει κάποιες καινούργιες...

Tasty food and nice service. The mini burgers for the kids were very good and they were 'finished fast' 😀. The pasta was also yummy, alongside the Pulled Pork Burger. The grilled cheese in the salad was perfectly made! The toilets were clean. The only downside was the fact that they don't have Coffee (but it's a Meat Point 🙂).
