We went here on a Sunday but it was fully packed so we tried to book to make sure we could get a table which is highly advisable because if you check Google, this Resto is one of the top rated ones. The whole dining experience was 5* I would say. The mushroom with garlic as our entrée was delicious, we got a bottle of white wine from the region, absolutely the right fruitiness and just the right amount of sweetness in it, the fish was well prepared, the salad with mint sauce was juicy, crunchy, and refreshing. Service from our lady staff was superb, not too smiley but just the right amount of friendliness and care.
The shocking part was when I paid for the dinner at the counter (paying by card had to be done there as they do not have wireless terminal which is not a problem at all for me), while I was about to tap my card, the other guy (could be a chef or he sounded like a senior staff) approached my partner and asked if he is also paying, partner replied that no and he’s just waiting for me to do the payment. The staff told him to wait outside (mind you, there were so many empty tables with chairs near the cashier) it felt like he was kicked out. Would have granted 5 stars. Maybe better if they really wanted to have the space to move around delivering orders, he should have at least offered a chair that he could sit shortly while I was paying.
These are small details in the hospitality industry that if staff aren’t sensitive enough, it could ruin the whole experience which happened to us. Otherwise, the lady staff who attended to us and the food were...
Read moreFood: Kids’ pasta with minced meat was not tasty; it was too dry as there was no tomato sauce. Also the plates which the pasta was served were extremely hot and we were advised not to touch them as a precaution. Not sure why the plates had to be that hot? We ordered 2 salads that were just ok. The starters: pulled pork was tasty but the other starter which was a cheese with aubergine was not edible and was left almost untouched. It arrived cold and the cheese was too hard to eat. The mains: ribeye steak was tasty. The pork ribs seemed to be the same meat as the starter with just a barbecue sauce and its side dish with the coleslaw was too overwhelming, covering at least half of the plate. The aubergine pasta was not edible and was almost left untouched; it had a super intense garlic flavor and you could taste (and see) small pieces of garlic all over the plate. Briam was ok. Service: The dishes arrived a big delay, we sat and ordered at 19:30 and the main courses arrived at 21:10. Atmosphere: The atmosphere and sitting area is nice and there is a small gated public playground attached to the restaurant which can be handy if your kids...
