Nice taverna on the main beach of Kalamata town. I had a good look at the reviews and the most recent were all very good. This is a relaxed place with good shade for eating at table, right next to sun loungers with large umbrellas on the beach. Waiters are friendly and take the time to chat. We had taramasalata, a 'small' seafood mezze and a greek salad. All very good and a huge amount of food. The seafood mezze came with several small plates of tasty fish-themed appetizers as well as a pile of piping hot fried seafood. We stopped by for a quick meal on the beach. Service was attentive and friendly but there were only a few other couples in late October. The Ithomi Salad was huge and delicious. We thought we ordered the Shrimp Saganaki but were delivered the cheese Saganaki. We assured the server it was our mistake in communication (our English) and that it was a happy accident. The restaurant is right on Kalamata beach, and you can sit and eat right on the sand, which is a really cool experience even though the design is simple. We ordered the Greek salad, fried cod with mashed potato, wine , and a seafood mix that came with an extra side dish. All the food was really good and there was plenty to eat.
