Thalassa — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalamata

Although it is a beautiful place especially in the summer I was very disappointed with this bar by the beach. The waitress overcharged by 40 euros thinking we wouldn’t notice as Canadians. The worst part is that instead of management owning up to it he said that the waitress was crazy. The waitress also made us pay a bill twice , stating that my cousin did not pay his bill. I come from a family that owns restaurants and I find it upsetting to fly all the way to Kalamata and be treated that way , especially at the fact that it was our fourth time there in one week and we had already spent a few hundred euros . The worst part is… we went back to the hotel to check our bills from the week and we noticed that we overpaid on our first time there. They charged 70 euros when I only Ordered 3 plates and 4 coffees but I didn’t notice until now. A lovely beach bar. Beach lounges are free as long as you purchase something to eat or drink with no minimum charge. Service was friendly. We had the mixed grill for lunch which looked very impressive for €35. But I was very underwhelmed. The chips were just warm, the meats just ok, sausage was good. Well a bit of a mixed bag here... Nice place and Atmos, beautiful beach bar type decor and friendly staff. What's not to like you might ask? When you order a mochito I'd expect to be able to taste the alcohol... It felt as if it was lemonade, no crashed ice (not too bothered about that) and no sugar on the edge of the glass. Then the moschato dasti had no sweet cherry in it. Like having a cake without the cherry. Lol excuse the pand here.....
