The hotel is like a pair of old slippers, comfortable but wearing around the edges.||Nikos and the family that run the hotel are very friendly and helpful; the rooms were clean with a comfortable bed and nice linen and towels. The room we had, a sea view, was small as was the bathroom. The shower is small with concertina doors and due to the shower adjustment sticking into the shower space, there is not a lot of room. The room has good air con.||The big downside of the room is that the wallpaper is badly marked and the wall in which the shower is adjacent has suffered water damage with the paper coming off and the plasterboard breaking up. The room generally has seen a lot of action and is badly marked.||The breakfast, at €10 per person per day, is not bad but the breakfast presentation is lacking in quality and provision. The orange juice was poor; there was not a good selection of breads or pastries and the fruit selection was low key. The coffee was good though. The breakfast filled a hole but it was not of quality.||This was the fifth hotel we stayed in during our trip around the Peloponnese, it was the most expensive and to be honest it was not the best. I think there is parking up the road but did not investigate as I managed to park in the hotel space and left it there.||We enjoyed the sea view and watching the world go by, but overall the hotel requires some care...

Apart from the pandemic, my wife and I have been staying at the Haikos for two weeks every year in May, since 2016. Why do we keep going back? Words cannot describe enough how much we love the family owned and run hotel. Perfect location, not just to the beach but everywhere else in Kalamata and surrounding places. It even has its its own car park. The hotel rooms are lovely, clean, comfortable and are of very 'High Standard', serviced by professional staff, that just happen to be the same staff that have been there every year since our first stay in 2016. 'The Management' many of which are family and staff, all of whom have a long service record with the hotel, are professional, helpful in every aspect, and above all respectful, sincere and friendly. Nothing, and I mean nothing is too much trouble. we have just returned to the UK from a 17 day stay at the Hotel Haikos. Buster...
