Uncle John — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalamata

I ordered two different meat sticks, one with chicken and one would pork. So... they came each and an individual bug with real potato, real fried potatoes, not something frozen. They were made from the start. They will not made Captain water and then remade. They were made on the spot so we took a little bit of a longer time. But of course this made them taste amazing. The service is very good. The location is very good. They have beautiful design of a traditional taverna. I think it's quite good...

We just got into town and were looking for authentic food - Uncle John’s did that plus super outside patio. Cool breeze and friendly wait staff who spoke perfect English combined with excellent Eggplant “Imam” smothered in sautéed onions and tomato with feta on top plus a salad using Manouri cheese, figs and tasty dressing. We split these two homemade foods and drank two cokes and two water for total bill of €16.50. The eggplant really impressed my wife who is not...

Food quality was good. But...

We had a serious issue with the receipt. The owner never gave us one. €50 was the bill, he said that the receipt was blown away by the wind... He is tax evading!

It's a pity that Greece is under such strict financial surveillance for 9 years, but some people are still stealing, by avoiding paying their taxes! Thieves are not appreciated!
