I don't ususally like to use the term "hidden gem". However, Ladókolla in Athens, Greece, is a true hidden gem, especially for tourists like me. We stumbled upon it on our last night in the neighborhood, and its warm lighting drew us in. The interior decor exuded a rich history and cozy, family-owned feel. The two waitresses greeted us with warm smiles, setting the tone for a wonderful evening.
The restaurant's motto, "We are from Karditsa," reflects the city's friendly spirit and love for bicycling. We were treated to crispy bread soaked in En Elladi olive oil, followed by two signature dishes: the Lodokolla Salad (a delightful mix of greens, croutons, parmesan, and seasonal fruits) and the Lodokolla portion (featuring pancetta, chicken, sausage, and kebab).
