I honestly wish this was a joke. I walked into this place with high hopes, accompanied by family and friends, excited to enjoy what we thought would be a warm, authentic Greek dining experience. What we got instead was a drawn-out disaster disguised as a meal.

After sitting down and enjoying some decent starters, we placed our orders, expecting a reasonable wait time. Instead, we sat there for nearly an hour—watching the restaurant's energy slowly dissolve from hopeful buzz to pure stagnation. It was like witnessing a culinary tragedy in slow motion.

And then came the food. Or should I say, the insult. Cold, lifeless, and shockingly low effort. The rice? Still clinging desperately to its microwave packet. The chips? Small, sad, and soggy. The meatballs? Colder than a Santorini winter wind. I wouldn’t serve that plate to my worst enemy, let alone paying guests.

As someone who’s beginning their journey in food reviewing, I wanted to discover gems—this was more like digging up a culinary landfill. A truly disappointing experience that’s left a sour taste in my mouth—and not from the food.

I’m honestly relieved I’m leaving this island soon. I just wish this place had been the Greek delight it promised to be, instead of the lukewarm letdown it was.

We had an unforgettable meal at Akrogiali Restaurant in Kos! The sea bass was incredibly fresh and perfectly grilled — simple, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We also tried the gyros, and it was hands down some of the best we’ve had on the island — tender, juicy, and full of traditional flavor.

The menu is filled with authentic Greek dishes that feel both homemade and expertly crafted. The setting by the sea made it even more special — the sound of the waves, the view, the breeze… pure bliss. 🌊

But what really stood out was the amazing service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It felt like dining with friends.

We visited the restaurant twice within two days, and on both occasions it was an excellent experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food was of outstanding quality – just as one would expect from authentic Greek cuisine.

The location is particularly impressive, as guests can sit directly on the beach and enjoy a truly unique atmosphere. A visit in the evening is especially worthwhile, since the view of the sunset over the sea is remarkable.

The price-to-service ratio is outstanding, and overall the restaurant is highly recommendable. The interaction with the guests feels very warm and family-like.
